"Places in the Heart" was the story of a widow named Edna Spalding (Sally Field in an Oscar-winning performance) who fought to keep her farm by bringing in a crop of cotton with the help of two boarders. Edna and Moze, who were plowing when Moze first noticed the wind picking up, tried to get the animals in the barn while Mr. Will went in search of Possum. Frank, who was at school, barely made it home and into the storm cellar before the tornado hit.

After the tornado had passed, they all ventured out to look at the damage.

In response to Mr. Will's query about how bad it was, Moze said, "Well, everything's a little bent, but it's still here". Danny Glover, John Malkovich, Lindsay Crouse and Ed Harris also starred in "Places in the Heart".

Some time after losing his wife, a distraught Seth was in his home when it was destroyed by a tornado. He survived, but a short time later found out he was being fired from his job. Seth was on the roof of his apartment building, demanding an answer from God about why he was being made to suffer, when lightning struck. Rachel and her husband, Harry, (Courteney Cox and Anthony LaPaglia) took in Seth, who decided that he was going to break all ten commandments in order to get God's attention. With 'Thou shalt not kill' left to go, Seth decided to kill himself by going to where the approaching Hurricane Abe was scheduled to come ashore. Seth made an attempt, but the results were quite different from what he expected. Alice Drummond and Joanna Going also starred in this 1997 movie.

As a despondent Novalee (Natalie Portman) waited outside of Wal-Mart after Willy Jack had left her, Sister Husband (Stockard Channing) offered her a welcome to town and a buckeye tree. Sister later offered Novalee a place to live when she was once again abandoned, this time at the hospital after having her baby.

The tornado, which came a few years later, killed Sister, who didn't make it home in time to get in the shelter. "Where the Heart Is" (2000) also starred James Frain, Ashley Judd and Dylan Bruno.

Answer: Sand storm

On a mapping expedition in North Africa, most of the "Sand Club" was forced to wait for help when all but one of their vehicles were damaged in an accident. During the wait, the Count and Katharine took shelter in one of the vehicles when a dangerous sand storm came up.

Despite their best efforts, their attraction for each other grew during the storm, and afterwards while they waited for Madox to return with help. Ralph Fiennes and Kristin Scott Thomas both earned Oscar nominations for their portrayal of the ill-fated couple.

"The Ice Storm" was set in the early 1970s and centered on two affluent families, the Carvers and the Hoods. The parents were, for the most part, poor role models for their children, which led to a tragedy the night of the ice storm. The story began just prior to Thanksgiving, with the storm occurring just after the holiday, the night the parents all attended a party. Kevin Kline, Joan Allen, Jamey Sheridan and Sigourney Weaver played the parents, with Tobey Maguire, Christina Ricci, Elijah Wood and Adam Hann-Byrd playing their children.

When Truman was trying to escape his fake world by boat, in "The Truman Show" (1998), Christof ordered a storm to try to deter him. The storm nearly did him in, but Truman managed to survive, and then found a way out when his boat reached the edge of the "stage".

At the beginning of "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" (1989), we were shown how a young Indy tried to make sure the Cross of Coronado was put in a museum where it belonged. He took it from looters, but was forced to return it, earning him a fedora for his trouble. With the fedora being pushed down onto his head, the scene transitioned to an adult Indy who was on a boat in the middle of a storm, trying once again to retrieve the Cross and put it in a museum. Various people at sea were endangered by the convergence of a low pressure system, a cold front and a hurricane, in "The Perfect Storm" (2000), which was based on true events. "Courage Under Fire" (1996) was about a man investigating what really happened when a woman helicopter pilot died during the 1991 Gulf War.

Ben ended up sitting beside Sarah (Sandra Bullock) on the plane, and then inadvertently hit her in the head with his laptop when the plane veered off the runway. Circumstances led to the two of them sharing a rental car with someone else, beginning their wild journey together. "Forces of Nature" (1999) also starred Maura Tierney and Steve Zahn.

The pilot, Winston, commented on a really large dust devil, which was actually Imhotep, along with Evie and Beni. While Imhotep was concentrating on the sand storm, Evie said to stop or he would kill them, prompting Beni to say that was the idea. Evie went over to Imhotep, hesitated, and then kissed him.

This caused his concentration to be broken, allowing the plane to come out of the rapidly diminishing cloud of sand. The plane ended up crashing because it had already sustained damage, but Rick, Ardeth Bay and Jonathan managed to escape before it disappeared into quicksand. Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz, Arnold Vosloo and John Hannah starred in "The Mummy".

A blizzard, which Phil had assured his viewers would not affect the area, stopped the trio when they were on the highway getting ready to head back home. Forced to go back to Punxsutawney, Phil woke up the next morning with no sign of the snow from the night before.

He soon found himself trapped in the same day over and over, first squandering his time, and then deciding to put it to good use. Bill Murray, Andie MacDowell and Chris Elliott starred in the movie as Phil, Rita and Larry.

Forrest used his ping pong paddle endorsement money to start the shrimping business he and Bubba had planned. After Lt. Dan found out that Forrest was a shrimp boat captain, he joined him as his first mate. They weren't having much success catching shrimp, until after Hurricane Carmen hit.

The Jenny was the only shrimp boat to survive the hurricane unscathed, so Forrest and Lt. Dan had no competition catching shrimp, and subsequently became wealthy men. "Forrest Gump" (1994) starred Tom Hanks as Forrest and Gary Sinise as Lt. Dan.
