S Club 7 was formed in 1998 by British entrepreneur Simon Fuller. The original members of the band were Tina Barrett, Paul Cattermole, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O'Meara, Hannah Spearritt, and Rachel Stevens. The band was man-made in the sense that they were manufactured by Fuller. Auditions were held to find suitable people for the band. S Club 7's claim to fame and the turning point for the band was in truth a TV series called "Miami 7," also known as "S Club 7 in Miami" in the US. The program aired from 8 April to 1 July 1999 with 13 episodes. One song from the band's first album, "S Club," would feature in each episode. Each member of the band would play a make-believe character of themselves.

The band had a relatively short career, only performing for five years. Between 1998 and 2003, the band recorded four studio albums: "S Club" (1999), "7" (2000), "Sunshine" (2001), and "Seeing Double" (2002). Eleven singles from the band all were top ten hits, with several reaching the number one positions in the UK charts.
