Jacob was on season two of "Canadian Idol." He was in the Top Three along with Kalan Porter and Teresa Sokyrka. He was voted off the show though.

Jacob is the lead singer, Dave is the guitar player, Chris is the drummer and Tommy is the bass player.

"Famous Last Words" was released September 30, 2007. It has had a string of singles released, with "Old School" being released in the fall of 2008. The album went platinum just ten days after its release.

All members of the band live in or around Vancouver, BC. Although they all live in BC, not everyone was born there. Tommy was actually born in Germany before moving to Canada.

In November of 2006, Hedley released a DVD called "Try This at Home." It documents the band acting like complete idiots in public places. In one scene, Jacob and Chris are fighting each other with light sabres in a Wal-Mart. In another scene, Jacob is sucking milk out of a cow's udder. It's kind of like the "Jackass" movies.

"On My Own" was released in 2005 from Hedley's self titled album. It was the first Hedley single to reach number one on Canadian radio. The music video also reached number one.

After Jacob had been eliminated from "Canadian Idol," his old band hedley. had moved on and gone their separate ways. Jacob knew that Chris, Dave, and Tommy had a band, but no singer. He called them up, and the rest is history!

For future reference, hedley. was Jacob's pre-"Canadian Idol" band. It had totally different members than Hedley does. Also note the spelling difference.

They went over to Germany to start recording their third album. Another reason they went there was to expand their fanbase. They will be touring in Germany and the rest of Europe for a few months in 2009. In 2010, they will begin a long awaited Canadian tour.

In November and December of 2005, Hedley embarked on their first Canadian tour ever with Simple Plan. To make it even better, it was also Hedley's first time playing in huge arenas and stadiums. The band started in Victoria, BC and ended up in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Hedley toured with Bon Jovi on their Canadian tour in the winter of 2007. The Bon Jovi tour gave Hedley huge exposure. Even though they were just an opening act, it gave them the opportunity to play to a whole different fan base and hopefully gain new fans through it.
