This song was written by Jim Collins and Marty Dodson for George Strait. He however decided not to record it and instead Kenny Chesney included it on his album "Lucky Old Sun". It has gone on to become something of a country music standard, being recorded by such artists as Alison Krauss and Loretta Lynn.

Rolf Harris stunned Led Zeppelin fans when in 1993 he had a UK singles chart number seven with his version of "Stairway to Heaven." Sung in his own inimitable style, complete with wobbleboard and didgeridoo solo, it was featured on the television show "The Money or the Gun". A different version of the song was performed each week, and eventually a CD of 25 different versions, all featured on the show, was released.

Recorded in 1960, with Buddy Holly's Crickets as the backing group, this song was a UK Singles Chart posthumous number one for Eddie Cochran. He died in a car crash whilst on a tour of the UK earlier that year. In America it failed to make the Billboard Hot 100.

"My Blue Heaven" was written in 1927 and was first recorded in 1928 by crooner Gene Austin. Since then it has gone on to be an American standard. It has been recorded by people like Frank Sinatra, Rosemary Clooney and Harry Connick Jr.

Written by Irving Berlin for the 1935 film "Top Hat", "Cheek to Cheek" is sung by Fred Astaire to Ginger Rogers as they dance together. It has gone on to become part of the Great American Songbook and has been covered by so many great singers. These include Ella Fitzgerald, Alma Cogan, Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra.
Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers made ten films together for RKO. The first was "Flying Down to Rio" in 1933 and they did not have top billing. The first where they were the stars was "The Gay Divorcee" (1934). "Top Hat" was their fourth film together.

"Heaven" was originally recorded by Talking Heads in 1979. In 1985 Simply Red covered it on their debut album "Picture Book".
Other singers, including k.d. lang have recorded album versions of it, and both White Lies and Widespread Panic have often used it during their live shows.

Answer: The death of his son

Eric Clapton and Will Jennings wrote "Tears in Heaven" for the soundtrack of the 1991 film "Rush". It is about the pain Clapton felt following the death of his four year old son, who died in a fall from the window of a 53rd floor apartment. Fans certainly related to his feelings as the song reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 single chart. It also won three Grammy Awards.

Bob Dylan wrote "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" for the soundtrack of the film "Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid" (1973). It is one of the very few Bob Dylan songs that he has ever consented to being altered. After the massacre of schoolchildren in Dunblane, Scotland, in 1996, he allowed Ted Christopher to write an extra verse in memory of the children and schoolteacher killed. The new recording featured Mark Knopfler on guitar and children from the village singing the chorus. All proceeds from this version of the song went to children's charities.

Recorded in 1987, "Heaven Is a Place on Earth" is Belinda Carlisle's only Billboard 100 number one. It also gave her a number one on the UK Singles Chart as well as topping the charts in numerous other countries. Because of this success it has come to be regarded as her signature song. It was nominated for a Grammy Award but failed to win, losing out to Whitney Houston with "I Wanna Dance with Somebody".
