Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which song contains the lyrics "His voice is a familiar sound, nothing lasts forever"?

Answer: Wildest Dreams

This Lana del Rey inspired song (and one of my favorites) was released as the ninth song on her album. It's about wanting to be remembered after you leave someone, especially for the good things.
2. The lyrics "Every night with us is like a dream" comes from which song?

Answer: New Romantics

This song is a bonus track from the album's deluxe version. It's kind of about being worn out after all hard relationships and everything that happens in them, but you still keep going and stay strong.
3. "I said 'I've been there too a few times'". Which song are these lyrics from?

Answer: Style

This song was the third single released from 1989 on February 13th, 2015. It is rumored to be about Taylor's former boyfriend Harry Styles from One Direction, meaning that their on and off-romance never goes out of style. People also think it's about him because it is named "Style", and Harry's last name is "Styles".
It is one of the songs on the album where you really can hear that it's inspired by 80s synthpop music.
4. Which popular song from her album contains the lyrics "Cause darling I'm a nightmare, dressed like a daydream"?

Answer: Blank Space

This is the second single from her album, released November 10th 2014, and both the song and the music video became instantly popular and a radio station favorite.
She began writing the song as a joke to the media, trying to write something about this crazy, obsessive, clingy serial dater that the media has portrayed her to be. It turned out as a great song.
Also, along with the song, she - together with American Express Unstaged - released a free app with the "Blank Space Experience", in which you can explore the mansion where the music video was filmed in and find hidden clues at the same time as the song is playing. You should check it out.
5. "Been losing grip, oh, sinking ships You showed up just in time" is from what song?

Answer: This Love

The eleventh song from her album, "This Love" is one of the more slow, calm songs on 1989. It's about a romance between two people who feel strong affection for each other, but can't make it through. But if you truly love someone, you have to let them go. And if they come back, you were always meant to be.
6. Which song do the lyrics "And life was never worse, but never better" come from?

Answer: Wonderland

This is another bonus track, and just like "Style", it has rumors about being about Harry Styles, probably because she mentions "green eyes" and "cheshire cat smile" in the lyrics (Harry has green eyes and was raised in Cheshire, England).
7. "You two are dancing in a snow globe, round and round" is from which song?

Answer: You Are In Love

Also being a bonus track on the deluxe version, Taylor wrote "You Are in love" for her friend, Lena Dunham, about the relationship between her and Jack Antonoff. She said that this was the way that she saw their relationship from the outside; she got inspired and wrote about their real, true love.
8. "And to the fella over there, with the hella good hair" comes from what upbeat 1989 song?

Answer: Shake It Off

This was the first single released from the album, about two months before the rest of the album. It is simply about the fact that she, and everyone, have haters and rumors spread about them sometimes, but you've just got to shake it off, ignore them and do your thing because you are awesome.

It is a little similar to her 2010 song "Mean" from "Speak Now", which is also about that you shouldn't care about haters and bullies.
9. "And the butterflies turned to dust they covered my whole room" are lyrics from the song...

Answer: Clean

"Clean" is the last song on the 1989 original album, with a different sound, written and produced together with Imogen Heap. It's about breaking free from something bad or a hard period in your life, and trying to recover from that situation and "finally be clean".
10. Can you guess which song the lyrics "Then, why'd you have to go and lock me out when I let you in" comes from?

Answer: All You Had To Do Was Stay

The inspiration for this song is kind of interesting - Taylor had a dream about an important person in her life who was leaving her. In her dream, she tried to speak but all that came out of her mouth was a high pitched "stay", that kind of weird thing that happens in dreams. So she put that "stay" in the song, adding that little extra to it.
