Bill Wyman was the Stones' bassist. George Harrison was a Beatle and Manfred Mann had his own band, Manfred Mann.

Marianne penned "Sister Morphine". It was on the Rolling Stones' 1971 "Sticky Fingers" album. The writing credit for the song became the subject of a lengthy legal battle. Faithfull was eventually listed as co-author of the song. In her autobiography, Faithfull relates that Mick Jagger and Keith Richards published it in their own names so that her agent would not collect all the royalties from the song, especially considering that she was homeless and battling with heroin addiction by the time it was recorded.

By 1979, when "Broken English" was released, her voice had noticeably changed from years of smoking and drug abuse. The other musicians were also members of the Vibrators.

She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, but made a full recovery and returned to perform concerts and appear in film and stage productions.
