Question 1 of 10
1. When I heard this song, I remembered a 'Child's Prayer' taught to me by my Gran years ago. "This is nice" I thought, but on closer viewing, it turned out the song was actually about skateboarding! Which song was I listening to when I heard the line "If I die before I wake"? Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. The next video seemed at first glance to be a tad gory - a young man in need of a good wash, with a cross cut into his forehead upside down, having a nosebleed. The actual song though, is a rather sweet little ditty with a catchy chorus, joined in enthusiastically by my 4 year old. Which song were we singing "We do what we like and we like what we do"? Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. The next video we saw was a brilliant cartoon satire on "born, work, die" with shades of 'Solomon Grundy' and babies wearing balls and chains. Even though the words were a bit depressing - "today could be the last day of your life" - the tune was catchy and we la-la-ed along merrily. Which song was it? Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. During the next video, a beautiful (though somewhat ill looking) ballerina in a black tutu dances in church. Unfortunately it turns out it's her funeral and she's dead, which led to us telling my 4 year old ballerina mad daughter that the coffin carried out at the end contains "the band's stuff, they're finished playing and going home." The lyrics sound like a sort of depressing drone to me, but Gothson sang along so there must be proper words in there somewhere! Any idea what song we were watching? Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. About a million gallons of bright green water cascading merrily everywhere. Won't they get electrocuted? Political comment disguised as a catchy tune, even I was "do(ing) the propaganda" by the end of this one! Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. I recognised the next song instantly and amazed Gothson by singing along with all the lyrics, including "the love we shared". I remembered the song from its first release as a pop song in the 1980s. Daughter loved the big fluffy bunnies dancing, right up until they took their fur off to reveal their underwear. And why is that singer's tongue so ODD? Which cover version were we watching? Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. Next up was a video with a rather beautiful young woman in a corset, singing to an audience of vampires. I was sure she'd catch her death of cold swimming in those clothes but she seemed OK afterwards, and refused help with the words "Don't want your hand this time, I'll save myself". Who were we watching? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. The next song sounded to me just like "Seven Tears" by the Goombay Dance Band so I sang the words for that. Gothson was deeply offended by this, as apparently, it's deeply embarassing to liken "Rock Gods" DragonForce to such a deeply uncool band. He sang the following lyrics loudly to drown me out - "So far away, we wait for the day. For the lives all so wasted and gone". Which DragonForce song were we mangling? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. Attempting to warble along with this song, I sang what I fondly imagined to be the correct lyric. I sang "Give us ice-cream, and a damp arse mate". Which band was I watching? Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. We listened to 3 songs in a row by the same band. I actually remembered this band from the 80s so they are 'long lived' and one of their members is from my home town of Hartlepool in the UK. One of the songs featured a famous mythological figure who flew too close to the Sun. The second featured a school class outing to Whitby Abbey in North Yorkshire, UK, and the third told the story of the white man's oppression of the Native American peoples. Which band were we listening to? Hint
