Known best by his nickname "Walt", Cunningham was the pilot of the lunar module of Apollo 7 on its mission October 11, 1968 to October 22, 1968.

Jimmy Carter graduated from the US Naval Academy and served as a submarine officer for seven years. After his father's death Carter left the Navy to manage the family peanut farm. Truman and Eisenhower served in the Army. Truman commanded an artillery battery in World War I and Eisenhower was commander of the European Theatre in World War II.
