Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What did Solomon ask for when God came to him in a dream?

Answer: wisdom

When Solomon asked for wisdom, God gave him riches, the death of his enemies, and long life, as well as wisdom, if he obeyed God's commandments. This is found in 1st Kings, chapter 3.
2. Who did Jesus raise from the dead after he was buried for four days?

Answer: Lazarus

Jesus was first notified when Lazarus was still ill, but instead, he waited until Lazarus died from the sickness. Jesus wanted to show the people that God can do all things, even raise people from the dead. This is found in John 11.
3. Where did Jesus' parents find him after the Passover Feast when he was 12?

Answer: in the temple

When Jesus was 12, they ate the Passover Feast and went home, not aware that Jesus wasn't with them. After they arrived at their home, they saw that Jesus wasn't with them. They had to go all the way back to Jerusalem and found Jesus there, in the temple, asking hard biblical questions. This is found in Luke 2.
4. What king was in power over Jerusalem during most of the time when Elijah preached?

Answer: Ahab

King Ahab was the husband of the wicked Jezebel. Elijah prophesied against Ahab, won a competition of the God of Israel versus Baal (as represented by Baal's priests), and sent a servant boy to appoint Jehu to be the next king of Jerusalem. Jehu followed God, but was remembered mostly for his eagerness to kill someone who wanted to challenge his throne. Elijah's story is a large part of the Books of Kings.
5. Which person/people committed the first sin and received the first punishment from God?

Answer: Adam and Eve

When Eve went to the tree of good and evil, a serpent there tempted her to eat the forbidden fruit. She gave in and ate some and told Adam to eat some too. The Bible story is called "The Fall". Cain committed the second crime by murdering his brother, David and Bathsheba committed adultery, and Moses killed an Egyptian for beating a Hebrew slave. Adam's and Eve's story is found in Genesis 3.
6. What garden did Jesus go to, praying three times there before he died?

Answer: The Garden of Gethsemane

Jesus asked Peter and John to go with him to pray for him. He went and prayed for God to spare his life. After he prayed the third time, he woke John and Peter, and said "It's time." After that, he was arrested and was later crucified. This is found in Matthew 26.
7. What are Noah's three sons called?

Answer: Ham, Shem, and Japheth

Ham, Shem and Japheth were Noah's three sons. They were saved from the flood and are the ancestors of many people.
8. Who wrote the book of Revelation?

Answer: John of Patmos

According to tradition, John of Patmos was the same John as the last disciple of Jesus to die. He wrote Revelation while exiled. God came to him and gave him a vision of heaven. God showed him the future and what would happen when he returned again.
9. Who was the only son of Jonathan to survive?

Answer: Mephibosheth

Mephibosheth was crippled and was given a permanent seat at the king's (David's) table. See 2 Samuel, chapter 9.
10. Who was the first person to walk with God without dying?

Answer: Enoch

Enoch lived on Earth for 365 years and then God took him up into heaven. See Genesis chapter 5.
