Answer: Cam Ward

Goaltender Cam Ward of the Carolina Hurricanes was selected first overall.
2. In which state was the 2011 All-Star draft held?

Answer: North Carolina

The All-Star game, and all the preceding events were held at the RBC Centre in Raleigh, North Carolina, home of the Carolina Hurricanes.
3. Who were the captains of the 2011 All-Star teams?

Answer: Eric Staal and Nicklas Lidstrom

The 42 players that were selected to the team chose their captains and alternate captains.
4. Who was not an alternate captain at the 2011 All-Star game?

Answer: Dan Boyle

The alternate captains, as chosen by the players were Mike Green, Martin St. Louis, Patrick Kane, and Ryan Kesler.
5. Which team did Taylor Hall choose to represent in the YoungStars game?

Taylor Hall of the Edmonton Oilers was the captain of his YoungStars team, and won the right (by winning a coin toss) to choose which team he'd like to represent.

Team Lidstrom made Duncan Keith, the Olympic gold-medallist and 2010 Norris Trophy winner, and Stanley Cup champion from the Chicago Blackhawks, their 2nd pick (4th overall).

Jonas Hiller of the Anaheim Ducks was the last goalie chosen. Team Lidstrom took him in the 10th round.

Just like in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, Daniel was chosen immediately before his brother. Daniel went to Team Staal and Henrik went to Team Lidstrom. Daniel and Henrik both played for the Vancouver Canucks.
