The first set was competitive with Sock winning 7-6 by outlasting Dimitrov in a 9-7 tiebreaker. Sock won the next two sets 6-2 and 6-3. Dimitrov was a former junior No. 1 ranked player in the world having won the 2008 Wimbledon and 2008 US Open titles in the under 18 group.

Although he is from Germany as well, Benjamin Becker is not related to Boris Becker who won six tennis majors. Becker withdrew from his third round match after he injured a pectoral muscle in his second round match that ended 10-8 in Becker's favor in the fifth set.

The French players that made it to the fourth round were Richard Gasquet, Jérémy Chardy, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Gilles Simon, and Gaël Monfils. The fourth round also featured two players from Spain and Switzerland and one from Serbia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Croatia, Japan, Russia, and the Czech Republic.

Answer: Tomas Berdych

At the beginning of the 2015 French Open Tomas Berdych was the fourth ranked player in the world. The only set that Berdych won against Tsonga was a third set tiebreaker. Berdych may be best known for being the second player to defeat Roger Federer multiple times in a Grand Slam event before the semifinal.

Answer: Kei Nishikori

Nishikori did not drop a set through the first four rounds of the tournament. The longest quarterfinal match of the 2015 French Open lasted five sets with Jo-Wilfried Tsonga outlasting Kei Nishikori. In 2015 Kei Nishikori became the first male tennis player from Japan to be ranked in the top five in the world.

In 2010 Rafael Nadal became the seventh player to win all four Grand Slam events in his career. Going into the 2015 French Open Nadal had lost only once in 10 previous appearances including six wins over Djokovic in previous years. Nadal's injuries in 2014 contributed to his world ranking dropping which ended up placing him as the sixth seed in spite of winning the five previous French Opens.
The seven players with career grand slams were: Andre Agassi, Don Budge, Roy Emerson, Roger Federer, Rod Laver, Rafael Nadal and Fred Perry.

Stan Wawrinka, the eighth seed, and Roger Federer, the second seed, were the only men from Switzerland in the 2015 French Open. Wawrinka's win in the quarterfinals was only his third in 19 career head-to-head matches against Federer.

Djokovic beat Murray 6-3 6-3 5-7 5-7 6-1. Had the fifth set gone into a tiebreaker the two would have battled it out until one player had a two game lead in the final set. Djokovic's victory over Murray at the 2015 French Open was his eighth straight against him.

Answer: He lost the first set and then won the next three.

He won 4-6 6-4 6-3 6-4. The 2015 French Open final featured some great tennis with both players hitting incredible and powerful shots. Wawrinka had the better statistics though as he had more winners and Djokovic hit more unforced errors than he typically does. The win was Wawrinka's second Grand Slam championship (his first was the 2014 Australian Open).

Wawrinka's win at the 2015 French Open was surprising but Gaudio's win at the 2004 French Open was shocking. Gaudio had three five set matches and a four set match en route to his title where he outlasted fellow countryman Guillermo Coria.
