The European tour first began in the early 1930s where it was played in Europe, predominantly Scotland. However, as the game of golf increased in popularity, the tour grew and this culminates in what we have now as the European tour.

Answer: Seve Ballesteros

Severiano (Seve, as he is more commonly known) Ballesteros set a record with 49 wins, although some people say that the total is actually 50, we shall save the argument for later. He used to be number one in the world at his peak, however, unfortunately due to poor performances, he has decided to retire at the age of 50.

Answer: Des Smyth

Ireland's Des Smyth aged 48 years and 34 days, surpassing the previous record holder Neil Coles who was 48 years and 14 days when he clinched the title.
