Welcome to , Ohio and the NFL Hall of Fame. Our tour guide is from Miami so she'll share with us some of the legends who played at and were inducted into the Hall of Fame. First up, here are the Miami players who played during the 1960s and both were all-stars with the Oakland Raiders after college: center Jim Otto, who wore the unusual number for the Oakland Raiders, and linebacker Ted Hendricks who was nicknamed the " ".

Miami won its first national championship in 1983 and then again in 1987 and 1989. The late 80s team was led by " ", wide receiver Michael Irvin. The domination continued in 1991 where the championship defense was led by the All-American defensive tackle and future Warren Sapp.

The greatest Miami Hurricane team and arguably the greatest NCAA team of all-time was the 2001 team. The defense was led by safety and cornerback Sean Taylor. Sadly Taylor passed away before making the Hall of Fame, but Reed was a first ballot selection. Miami was so dominant in 2001 that if their offense didn't score a point that season, the team still would have went 8-4 that year. The team's go-to wide receiver was , a future great with the Houston Texans.

Before we finish our tour of the NFL Hall of Fame, let's not forget five of the greatest Hurricane players who left their mark in the NFL but didn't win a college national championship. Quarterback who led the Buffalo Bills to the Super Bowl four times! Cortez Kennedy, a defensive lineman who graduated in 1990. Last but not least, let's remember running back, Edgerrin James, who played at Miami from the mid 1990s and Devin , the greatest kick returner in NFL history.

The first eleven players who attended the University of Miami to be inducted to the NFL Hall of Fame were five offensive players and six defensive stalwarts. Jim Otto played 15 seasons in the NFL and never missed a start. Ted Hendricks was a three time All-American at Miami and also played 15 seasons in the NFL. Jim Kelly was drafted out of Miami into the NFL in 1983 and after a stint with USFL, joined the Buffalo Bills for eleven glorious seasons.

Michael Irvin was a consensus All-American at Miami and won Super Bowls with the Dallas Cowboys. Cortez Kennedy was a former NFL Defensive Player of the Year and spent his entire NFL career with the Seattle Seahawks. Warren Sapp won every major defensive player trophy in college before taking his talents to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Super Bowl champion, Baltimore Colts, won the title led by two Hurricanes, Ed Reed and Ray Lewis. Andre Johnson retired from the NFL in 2016 with almost every Houston Texan receiving record at the time of his retirement. Edgerrin James was inducted in the NFL Hall of Fame in 2020 with over 10,000 rushing yards. Devin Hester was drafted by the Chicago Bears in 2006 and shattered the NFL career record with 20 special teams touchdowns via 14 punts, 5 kickoffs, and 1 missed field goal.
