Grant had the helm of the Minnesota Vikings from 1967-1985, and he took them to four Super Bowls but just couldn't come up with a win. Prior to his NFL endeavors, Bud was a member of the 1950 basketball Minneapolis Lakers led by the great George Mikan. The Lakers took the Championship Series four games to two against the Syracuse Nationals.

From his beginning season in 1969 going 1-13, he turned it around many times, and beginning in his fourth season, the Steelers ran a streak of 13 seasons without having a losing season. Chuck took the Steelers, also via QB Terry Bradshaw, running back Franco Harris, and receiver Lynn Swann, to Super Bowls IX, X, XIII, and XIV.

He retired as a Cowboy in 1997.

Following the 1965 season, he found himself in a Raider uniform for nine seasons. He never threw more than six in a season again. George retired in 1975 after an exhausting 27 seasons.
