Young became a 49er in 1987. He took a backseat to the great Montana, until Joe left for the Chiefs after the 1992 season. It was all Young from there. In his second season as a full-time starter, Steve led the 49ers to a Super Bowl XXIX win over the Chargers. Young retired in 1999, then was inducted into the hall in 2005.
