1. In 2002, there were two rookies in Nascar's Winston Cup who battled it out for the Rookie of the Year award. Who were they?

Answer: Ryan Newman and Jimmie Johnson

The other combinations were not race car drivers. Johnson lost the Rookie of the Year award by 23 points to Newman. The rest in the top five were Shawna Robinson, Carl Long, and Hermie Sadler.
2. With which Major League baseball team did second baseman Joe Morgan begin his Hall of Fame career?

Answer: Houston Colt .45s

The others were not Major League baseball teams. Joe played for Houston from 1963-1971 and then was traded to the Cincinnati Reds. He won the NL MVP in 1975 and 1976, then was inducted into the hall in 1990.
3. Who was the first goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet in a FIFA World Cup Final?

Answer: Bodo Illgner

The others listed were all NBA players. In 1990, West Germany beat Argentina 1-0. Amazingly, every other World Cup Final (from the first in 1930) had ended with both teams scoring.

Answer: Chicago White Stockings

The other teams listed were later American League teams after the turn of the century. The White Stockings (who later became the Cubs) won the NL pennant with 52 wins and 14 losses. Pitcher Al Spalding set the standard for the new league by winning 47 games. William Hubert created the National League after owning the Chicago franchise in the National Association.
5. Which NHL player had a streak in which he scored 44 goals in 20 games during the 1918 season?

Answer: Joe Malone

The others listed were all heavyweight professional boxers. Those were Malone's only games he played in that season because in 1918, there were only 22 games. He missed one game because the Montreal Wanderers stadium burned down. Malone could never recall why he missed the other game. 44 goals in 20 games would put him on pace to score 176 goals in an 80-game schedule.

The others listed were all NFL players. Brazilian Ayrton Senna won the 1991 drivers World Championship in a McLaren Honda ahead of Brit Nigel Mansell, and Italian Riccardo Patrese, both in Williams Renaults.

The others listed were never inducted into any Hall of Fame. Brown's memorable professional career led to his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1971. Brown's football talents at Syracuse garnered him a berth in the college football Hall of Fame also.

The others listed were all former Major League baseball fields. Ben Hill Griffin attented the University of Florida, in which he went on to become a millionare by producing citrus and cattle. He died in 1990 at the age of 79, and because of his donations to the university, they named the stadium after him.

Answer: Don Budge

The others were not tennis players. In 1938, Don Budge won the French, Wimbledon, U.S., and Australian championships.
10. Which site was the first to host the Winter Olympics twice?

Answer: St. Moritz, Switzerland

The world famous ski resort hosted the winter Olympic Games in 1928 and 1948.
