Answer: Mandy Hampton

When the episode began, Mandy was in her convertible and she was driving down a road in Washington, D.C. Mandy started to honk her horn since she saw a couple of politicians on the sidewalk and wished to speak to them. Since they did not come to her, she drove up to them and got her car on the sidewalk. Mandy blasted one of the politicians for making a deal she felt was a bad move.
2. Mandy was a political consultant and, in this episode, she was working to get someone elected to what office?

Answer: President

Mandy continued to argue with her client about how he accepted a deal to not be nominated for President, at a political convention, so someone saw the commotion and asked her what the problem was. Mandy stated how she hated that she left a top tier firm to help someone get elected President and he was already admitting defeat.

The guy who went to go talk to Mandy got fed up with her immaturity and immediately left.
3. What was the name of the man that Mandy was trying to get elected?

Answer: Lloyd Russell

As soon as the man walked away from Mandy, the guy she was trying to get elected President asked to speak to her in private. Mandy mentioned his name as being "Lloyd" and we found out his full name was Lloyd Russell. Lloyd informed her that his being nominated for President was just not destined to happen but Mandy stated it was two years before the convention. Lloyd just stated he could not be elected President. John Bedford Lloyd originated the role of Lloyd and only appeared in this episode. He has also guest starred on the TV series', "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit", "SeaQuest DSV", and "L.A. Law."

Joosten, born on December 20th, 1939 in Eustis, Florida originated the role of Dolores Landingham, President Bartlet's secretary, on "The West Wing." She appeared in a total of 30 episodes for the series. She has also guest starred on the TV shows, "Spin City", "Las Vegas", and "Will and Grace." In 2005, she won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for the series, "Desperate Housewives." Other Primetime Emmy nominees for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series, that year, were Lupe Ontiveros for "Desperate Housewives", Georgia Engel for "Everybody Loves Raymond", Cloris Leachman for "Malcolm in the Middle", and Blythe Danner for "Will and Grace."

In Josh's first scene, he went to his office and was really excited and claiming victory and then he saw Donna. He asked her if she could go get him some bagels and she commented that she felt that day would be an unbearable one. Charlie Young did begin during the first season but he did not make his debut in this episode. Charlie debuted in the following episode titled, "A Proportional Response." When we first met Charlie, he mentioned how his parents had been killed and he was struggling to raise his siblings. President Bartlet asked Charlie if he wanted to work for him, as his aide, and Charlie accepted his offer. Throughout the series, Charlie befriended President Bartlet's daughter, Zoey.

After the opening credits rolled, President Bartlet went to the oval office and he was seen there by C.J., Sam, Toby, and Leo. Leo mentioned that the Japanese wanted the Japanese to buy more American cars and President Bartlet remarked that Americans needed to buy more American cars. President Bartlet asked what was on the agenda and they discussed a legislative bill that President Bartlet and Vice President Hoynes disagreed.

Leo saw a man named Morris Tolliver at The White House and he was a member of the armed services. Leo asked him how his newborn baby was doing and he said she was fine and she just turned ten days old. Leo asked for a picture and Morris showed him one. Ruben Santiago-Hudson guest starred as Morris Tolliver for just this episode. Santiago-Hudson has also guest starred on the TV series', "Third Watch", "Touched By An Angel", and "NYPD Blue." Midway through the episode, Donna went to see Josh and she commented, to him, that he owed her a hundred dollars and Josh asked her why. She replied that it was because she entered him into a football tournament but Josh wondered why she did not tell him about it. Donna remarked that it was a surprise for him so Josh asked who he lost the $100 to, in the tournament, and she said it was to Central Indiana State.
