1. What was Ed Deline's title when he was first employed by the Montecito Resort and Casino?

Often using his past connection and vast experience as the Director of Counter Intelligence for the CIA, Ed Deline became a valuable asset as Head of Security with the Montecito Resort and Casino. Surveillance was his specialty. During the first season, Ed was promoted to the position of President of Operations. Ed always projected the image of the gruff, unyielding executive, a throwback from the "old days" of Las Vegas but shared a strong affinity for his staff, especially Danny and Mike whom he often referred to as his "boys" and a typical loving fatherly weakness for his daughter Delinda, the true pride of his life. Ed Deline was played by veteran actor James Caan.

Danny said that the guest would buy $20,000 worth of chips, play a $100 worth of the chips, and then take off. Danny looked up some information, on the guest, and found his name to be Julian Kerbis. Julian had a clean record and was staying at the Montecito for two nights.

The episode opened up on a golf course and two friends were golfing and little did they know that this adventure, on the golf course, would change their lives. As they golfed and went around to each hole, one of them lost his ball in a secluded location, and he and his friend went to look for it. They found the ball next to a dead body. The corpse was identified as a man named Greg, who was a friend of Danny's.

Nessa Holt left the series at the end of season two, while Mary Connell departed the series at the end of season four. Ed Deline's final appearance was in the first episode of season five. Ed's number one assistant and protege Danny McCoy was played by Josh Duhamel.

Danny said that it was Montecito policy that, before the season officially ended, in Las Vegas, the casino threw the biggest pool party of the year.

Askew, born on December 17th, 1972 in London, England portrayed Rowan Davies, a suspicious gambler (for more, see "Interesting Info" section for question one), in this episode of "Las Vegas." This is the only episode for which Askew starred in for the series. Askew also guest starred on the TV shows, "Roswell", "Charmed", and "Then Came You." He had roles in the films, "Turistas", "The Hills Have Eyes", and "Go."

Nessa was out, by the card tables, and she noticed that a guest had been struggling to breathe and he passed out on the casino floor. She informed an employee to call paramedics and to also shut down the card tables since she felt this man collapsing could be a diversion for a robbery. When Nessa informed a guest that the tables were being shut down, someone at a Blackjack table was upset since he had just split a pair.

One of the Montecito's high profile guests that weekend was a U.S. Senator and Ed took extra precaution to make sure the Senator was protected. Sam and Ed saw the Senator meet and greet people and Sam informed Ed that, if the Senator pinched her behind, she would do harm to the Senator. Ed told her she would not do this. Sam had reservations about the Senator since he was very flirtatious and sleazy.

Danny was awarded the Silver Star for his service in Iraq. Danny was a reluctant recipient of the award as he felt undeserving of the honor and a degree of guilt for his actions. The feeling of guilt stemmed from the decision Danny was forced to make during a combat engagement. During a battle, Danny called for an air strike over the position occupied by his military unit as it was being overrun by the enemy combatants. Danny emerged from the battle as the sole survivor. When his good friend Detective Luis Perez was later killed in action in Iraq months later, Danny placed the medal on Luis' coffin during his funeral service. Parking Valet and later Surveillance and Security Expert Mike Cannon was played by James Lesure.

Finn, born on July 31st, 1965 in Evanston, Illinois portrayed Jim Warner for just one appearance on "Las Vegas." Jim Warner was a high roller and he used a lot of money in gambling at the Monte Carlo and Sun City casinos. Finn also guest starred on the TV series', "The Drew Carey Show", "3rd Rock From the Sun", and "Friends." He was also seen in the films, "Dude, Where's My Car?", "Prairie Dogs", and "Funky Monkey." My. Finn is not to be confused with Pat Finn the game show host.

Nessa was supervising the casino floor and noticed a guest breaking the casino's policy of putting his hands on the table. She went over and reminded the guest to make sure he kept his hands off the table. The guest replied that he just wanted to help his friends win and Nessa reminded him that, while thoughtful he was, each player had to play his or her own hand. The guest agreed to abide by the rules.

Right as Danny threatened to break a couple of Rowan's fingers, Ed entered the room and calmed down Danny. Danny asked Ed if he could break just one finger and Ed told him no. Ed asked Rowan who sent him, to the Montecito, and Rowan assured Ed he was by himself and nobody sent him.

This was the only episode he guest starred on for the show. He also had guest starring stints on the TV shows, "The West Wing", "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit", and "Cold Case." He was seen in the films, "Once Not Far from Home", "American Gun", and "Chill Factor."

Master Las Vegas magician and comic The Amazing Johnathan was never featured on the series. In the season three episode, "Bold, Beautiful, and Blue", Delinda mentions to magician Criss Angel during his cameo appearance that she once worked as a magician's assistant for The Amazing Roger, possible a reference to The Amazing Johnathan. The magic team of Penn and Teller appeared in a cameo appearance during the season one episode, "Luck be a lady". Famed Las Vegas icon Wayne Newton made cameo appearances during season one in the episode "Pros and Cons", during season three in the episode "Coyote Ugly" and in season four in the episode "Meatball Montecito". Special Events Director and later Hotel Manager Mary Connell was played by Nikki Cox.

O'Kelley, born on September 26th, 1968 in Melrose, Massachusetts played Janet Warner for one episode of "Las Vegas." Like her husband, Jim, Janet was also a high roller. O'Kelley guest starred on the TV shows, "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation", "Gilmore Girls", and "Once and Again." She also appeared in the movies, "The Gatekeeper", "Weather Girl", and "Outside Sales."

Danny just wanted to take some extra precautions, with a group of women, so he asked them all for I.D. They showed him their identification and Danny noted that one of the women was named Terri and, on her identification, it said she was from Tulsa. The I.D. also stated that Terri was 28 years old. Danny asked Terri if it was usual for women, in Tulsa, to take pictures at the Department of Motor Vehicles in their swimsuits. Terri just blushed and did not respond to Danny's question. Danny told the women to enjoy the pool area but to not gamble.

Big Ed Deline ran the Montecito Resort and Casino for the first four seasons of the series, but was never an owner of the property. Gavin Brunson (James McDaniel) was reportedly one of the richest men in the world purchased the Montecito Resort and Casino because he enjoyed his stay there as a guest, and didn't want to leave when he was asked to do so. One of his first actions as the new owner was to retain the entire staff and make Ed Deline the President of Operations. Billionaire businessman Casey Manning (Dean Cain) purchased the Montecito from the Foundation of the Blind after convincing them that they might find it difficult to manage the day to day activity of the resort casino complex. With the sudden and unexpected death of Casey in a water related mishap, his former wife Sam inherited the Montecito. Sam owned the complex for one week before having to give up ownership to satisfy a huge back tax bill. Other Montecito owners have included Monica Mancuso (Lara Flynn Boyle) the widow of a billionaire, who purchased the hotel from Brunson. After her sudden death, the resort and casino was left to the Foundation for the Blind in her Last Will and Testament. When Sam was unable to come up with the funds to pay the back taxes, a mystery billionaire oil tycoon and Wyoming Rancher named A.J. Cooper (Tom Selleck) became the owner after paying off the back taxes. The number one Casino Host in Las Vegas, Samantha Jane "Sam" Marquez was played by Vanessa Marcil.

Danny noticed a guest was at a slot machine and using a rod to stick up the coin tray to make it pay off so he spoke to Mary about it. Danny mentioned a technique called "monkey's paw", which is when someone uses a rod to get huge payouts in a casino. Danny told Mary to get a move on catching this guest. Danny and Mary did not catch the guest and the guest fled with the money.

Chuang appeared in just this episode, of "Las Vegas", as the physician who examined Delinda after Delinda successfully fought off the man who nearly raped her. The physician told Ed she would turn over the D.N.A. they found, on Delinda's body, to the police but Ed told her he would use the D.N.A. tests himself to catch Delinda's attacker. Chuang also guest starred on the TV shows, "Without a Trace", "The Mentalist", and "Bones." She appeared in the movies, "See Anthony Run", "Bewitched", and "Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous."

When the opening credits were being shown, Mary was in a room, at the Montecito, watching a psychic entertain the guests. He brought up a guest, onstage, named Cynthia James and she said she was from Ukiah, California. The psychic correctly identified how much money Cynthia had, in her purse, and this shocked Cynthia. Mary laughed and cheered on the psychic for entertaining the guests.

Tobolowsky, born on May 30th, 1951 in Dallas, Texas landed the guest starring role of Donny Rollins in this episode of "Las Vegas." This was the only episode he appeared in for the show. He also guest starred on the TV series', "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", "Will & Grace", and "CSI: Miami." He starred in the films, "Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!", "Blind Dating", and "Memento."
