When the opening credits rolled, we saw that Javier Grillo-Marxuach was credited with writing this episode of "Lost." For the first five seasons of the show, he wrote a total of seven episodes. He has also written episodes for the TV shows, "The Dead Zone", "Medium", and "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit."

Jin surprised everybody in this episode, when he attacked Michael and the survivors did not understand why, since Jin only spoke Korean. We learned, through the translations, that Michael had Sun's father's watch and that is why Jin attacked him. At first, it was believed that Jin and Sun only spoke Korean, but we learned in this episode, that Sun spoke English as well. Jin was not fluent in English, but he knew a couple basic words.

At the beginning of the episode, we saw some flashbacks, which involved Jin and Sun, and Jin worked as a waiter at a restaurant when he saw Sun at the restaurant where he worked. In the flashback, Sun passed Jin a note and, in the note, she told him to meet her in private. Sun spoke to Jin and she wanted to run away, to the United States, so her overbearing father would not know they were together. Jin did not like the idea and wanted to come clean, to her father, that they were dating.

We learned, in this episode, that Jin informed Sun that he told her father, about their relationship, and her father was accepting of it so long as Jin would go to work for him. Jin worked, for Sun's father, and his father was involved in dangerous work since, on his first day of working for him, Jin got bloodied up. Throughout the series, Jin and Sun's father had a very heated relationship and were not always on good terms.

Jin puzzled everyone, when he attacked Michael, and Sawyer and Sayid decided that he needed to be restrained. They both handcuffed him, to a part of the wreckage, and waited for Jin to calm down. Michael used an ax to cut the handcuffs off and he told Jin to stay away from him. Sayid worked, in law enforcement, since he was a member of the Iraqi Republican Guard.

While Charlie and John conversed in this episode, John mentioned to Charlie that he actually recognized him and had seen his face before the plane crash. Charlie was part of a band called DriveShaft, and the band was quite popular but not as big a hit as other rock bands. Charlie told John he appreciated that someone else, besides Kate, knew of his career as a musician.

Answer: The caves

Jack, Kate, Charlie, and John all found some caves and Jack decided it would be best if the survivors resided there and he tried to get everyone to move there. There was a debate as to whether to stay at the beach, where a rescue party could see them and they could easily make fires to signal a rescue, or to go to the caves, where there is more shelter and water. Half the survivors stayed on the beach and the other half moved to the caves.*

Answer: Heroin

Locke and Charlie were two people who moved to the caves and, when they first got there, Locke dropped a bombshell on Charlie. He informed Charlie he knew of his heroin addiction since he had seen him, on the island, smoking heroin when he felt nobody else was looking. Locke told Charlie, if he gave up heroin, the island would give him his guitar. Charlie gave Locke his bag of heroin and Locke took him to his guitar.

Sun saw that Michael was alone so she decided to go over and talk to him. Sun told Michael, in English, that she needed to talk to him and Michael was shocked she knew English. Sun replied that Jin did not know she spoke English and she told Michael that she knew why Jin attacked him.

She told Michael that he had Jin's father's watch and Michael defended himself when he said he found the watch in the wreckage.

Charlie was thrilled, to get his guitar back, and this was when the episode started to wind down. At the very end of the episode, Charlie was seen, playing his guitar, while Jack returned to the beach. Locke helped Charlie get his guitar and this helped bond the two characters for the rest of Charlie's entire run on the series (which ended in the season three finale).
