"All My Children" Turns 30 Trivia Quiz

The episode began at the Dillon's home and Janet was seen on the sofa, hugging an angel on her chest and Trevor came in to talk. Trevor asked Janet what was wrong and why she had trouble sleeping. Janet simply replied that she thought about her criminal past but Trevor encouraged her to forget about that as she had changed into a better person.

In Adam's first scene, he was with Marian and informed her he would not lose either Liza or Colby. Marian told Adam that he already had with his scheme to switch Jake's sperm sample with his to father Colby, upsetting Liza. Adam took Marian's words to heart and started to reminisce about some of his past decisions so, in his first flashback, he recalled a time with Dixie. That flashback involved the story where Adam wanted a male heir to the Chandler fortune and slept with Dixie since Brooke, his wife at the time, was infertile.

After Adam got done ruminating, he told Marian he had a good reason for doing everything he did.

In Erica's first scene, she was at her home since she had left The Crystal Ball early and Myrtle entered her room and showed her she had a key. Erica told Myrtle she wished she had put up her ornament on the Tree of Humanity at the gala and said she needed more than memories for her life. Myrtle then inquired to Erica on if she truly believed she had a future with David, the man who Erica was romantically involved with at the time. Erica replied that at least she thought she could have a future with him.

Erica and Myrtle got to talking about love and Myrtle quipped how she would be a rich woman if she got paid a nickel every time she heard Erica say she was in love. This caused Erica to first flash back to advice Mona once gave her and then she flashed back to Dimitri. In this flashback, she recalled the time she and Dimitri waltzed on their honeymoon in Budapest.

Edmund gave a speech regarding how the proceeds for the Crystal Ball would go to The Andrassy Foundation, a medical organization which sought to find cures to illnesses. It was founded in honor of both Dimitri Marick and Maria Santos who, at the time, were believed to have died (they both later turned up alive). Edmund praised Joe and Ruth for being the pillars of the Pine Valley community and how they made Pine Valley feel like home more than anyone else.

This is when he asked them to be the first to hang their ornaments on the Tree of Humanity.

Ryan and Greenlee hung out at the Crystal Ball and Greenlee noticed Ryan did not have an ornament to hang on the Tree of Humanity. She asked him why he did not have one so Ryan simply responded he did not feel nostalgic. Throughout the night, Ryan could not take his eyes off of Jake and Gillian.

Tad and Dixie discussed if they would perhaps reach their 30th anniversary and that was when Tad got nostalgic and began to flash back. His first flashback of him and Dixie was the moment when Tad proposed to Dixie while he donned a chicken outfit. Jake also reminded them that wanting to get to their 30th anniversary and reaching it were two different things.

Brooke and Phoebe were seen talking of their memories and Phoebe joked how her ornament might weight down the Tree of Humanity with all her memories (the ornament corresponded to the characters' memories). Phoebe and Brooke then flashed back to an early conversation they had right when Brooke arrived in town and it involved Benny Sago.

A notable moment in the flashback was when Phoebe assured Brooke she was not trying to be a busybody. Phoebe is considered by many "AMC" fans as one of their favorite busybodies.

Edmund hosted the Crystal Ball that year and it was only appropriate that he reflect back on some of his own memories since he asked his guests to do the same. Edmund began to reflect on some happy moments of his life and flashed back to the day in March of 1994 when he married Maria Santos.

At the end of the episode, Edmund asked the partygoers to gather before the Tree of Humanity to watch it light up. This is when he recited the poem the show's creator Agnes Nixon wrote for "All My Children." The words to the poem are as follows: "The great and the least, the weak and the strong, the rich and the poor, in sickness and health, in joy and sorrow, in tragedy and triumph, you are All My Children."
