Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which Hanna Barbera animated TV show features the incidental characters; Mr. Slate, boss of a stone quarry, Joe Rockhead a friend, and Sam Slagheap a Grand Poobah of the Water Buffalo Lodge?

Answer: The Flintstones

"The Flintstones" was first broadcast on ABC in September 1960, and surprisingly only appeared on TV screens for around six years (not including repeats) and just 166 episodes. There was also a number of specials and TV movies featuring the English speaking world's favourite cavemen and women, Fred, Barney, Wilma and Betty.

The incidental characters mentioned are wonderful oddballs: Mr Slate, Fred and Barney's grouchy boss, Joe Rockhead, Fred's buddy with whom he goes to watch baseball and Sam Slagheap the pompous leader of Fred's secret society the Water Buffalos. My personal favourite however, is Wilma's mother, the ever antagonistic but wonderfully named Pearl Slaghoople!
