Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Although they know her to be dead, Charles, Oliver, and Mabel think they hear Bunny's voice repeating rude phrases while in Mabel's apartment. What turns out to be the source of the noise?

Answer: A parrot

Bunny owned a parrot named Mrs. Gambolini, who had apparently learned some of Bunny's more crass phrases over the years. Mabel's apartment shares an air vent with Bunny's which is why our protagonist trio could hear the 'voice' and also how they surreptitiously enter Bunny's apartment in order to investigate.
2. Uma describes a painting she's seen in Bunny's apartment as "balls-forward" - what does the canvas depict?

Answer: A nude man and semi-nude woman

While in Bunny's apartment looking for the death threats Oliver had sent her, the group are interrupted by Uma and Howard who have come to the apartment to get collect the painting for appraisal. Uma says that Bunny had a real eye for erotic art and, in addition to describing the piece as "balls-forward" and "porny", she also reveals that it's worth millions.
3. What new injury is fellow resident Howard sporting in the days after Bunny's death?

Answer: Black eye

When he stops by to inform Charles that there's a gathering at Bunny's place for the people who loved her, he's sporting a black eye. Mabel asks what happened and he claims that he was playing with his new kitten ("Sevelyn") and ran into the hutch. He is lying however and does eventually reveal that he was punched by one of the trio's prime suspects.
4. A character played by which Academy Award winning actress visits 'The Apartment' during the gathering to remember Bunny and announce that she's the true owner of the missing painting?

Answer: Shirley MacLaine

MacLaine's character gatecrashes a memorial for Bunny and announces herself by asking, "are you talking about MY painting?" and claiming to be Bunny's mother Leonora. She produces a bill of sale and later tells Charles that she bought the painting off the artist Rose Cooper when the latter was cash-strapped, desperate to flee from a man, and shortly before she mysteriously disappeared.

Note: Shirley MacLaine was nominated for the 'Best Actress' Oscar for the 1961 film 'The Apartment' and later won the award for the 1984 film 'Terms of Endearment'.
5. Receipts allow our protagonists to recreate Bunny's last day but which of the following activities was not part of that day's events?

Answer: Dropping a book off at the library

Bunny was clearly a creature of habit because she greets the street vendor by name, and he knows which basketball team she supports. Similarly the waiter at 'The Pickle Diner' knows what Bunny's usual order is and the jokes she likes to tell. Although not part of her usual routine, we also see Bunny rehearsing her valedictory speech as the Arconia's board president.

Bunny may have been an avid reader for all we know, but of all the activities we see her doing on her final day, visiting the library was not one of them.
6. Bunny recommended Nina Lin become the new president of the Arconia's board after she stepped down. Following Bunny's death, did Nina in fact take over in this role?

Answer: Yes

According to Howard's minutes from a previous board meeting, Bunny had recommended Nina take over as president, saying that she believed her to be the "best person equipped to carry on her legacy". Through flashbacks, we also see that she'd been preparing Nina to do so for months by giving her advice on how and why she's done things and quizzing her about the residents.

Despite this, Bunny changes her mind about stepping down at the eleventh hour, leading to a heated argument between the two women.
7. Charles' unofficial stepdaughter Lucy reveals to our protagonists that the Arconia has a secret - what is it?

Answer: Hidden passageways

Whilst living with Charles in the Arconia as a child, Lucy discovered the passageways while playing 'Hide and Seek' with a kid who lived across the hall. Although they were built by the building's architect (Bunny's grandfather) to spy on his neighbours, the group speculate that this is also how Bunny's killer likely moved around the building undetected - especially after Mabel discovers that a floor vent in her wardrobe is one of the entry points.
8. Charles reveals that he released a song back in the 1980s which still makes him about $200,000 a year. What summery title does it have?

Answer: Angel in Flip Flops

The song was released when "Brazzo's" was at the height of its popularity and, although Oliver thinks the song is terrible, Charles claims it was a big hit in Germany and reached #83 on the charts before the fall of the Berlin Wall stopped its upward momentum.

As a child, Lucy loved the song and a flashback shows her bonding with Charles as they sing it together. She particularly liked the "pitta putta" refrain which was subsequently sampled by dozens of rap stars in their own works.
9. Oliver's son Will asks his dad for help in directing which play for his kid's school?

Answer: The Wizard of Oz

Will feels out of his depth after agreeing to direct the school production of "The Wizard of Oz" but Oliver insists he'll be a natural since the theatre is in his blood. Although initially brushing off his son's requests for help, when a fellow Arconia resident goes into labour, Will reassesses his priorities and shows up at the rehearsal to lend a hand - and teach his son a few tricks he's learned along the way.
10. Oliver uses a party game to identify 'tells' that people are lying. The game shares its name with which 1970s serial killer?

Answer: Son of Sam

Oliver and Charles suspect Mabel's new girlfriend Alice might have engineered a relationship, simply to stay close to the investigation. In order to try and see what 'tells' Alice has, Oliver plays a social deduction party game with Alice's art collective.

In the game, every player plays a character: one player is the Son of Sam and everyone else is an innocent blonde. Each time the lights are turned out, the Son of Sam chooses another player to metaphorically murder. Afterwards, all remaining players have to agree on someone to eliminate and that player reveals their card.

The game ends when the Son of Sam player is eliminated or is the last one standing.
