Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many queens were shown competing in this series of the "Drag Race UK"?

Answer: Ten

Although this series originally started with eleven queens in the competition it was discovered that grounds for disqualification needed to be enforced for one of the contestants, resulting in their removal from the show before the start of the third episode's filming. What resulted was clever editing on the part of the show's creative team, allowing the first two episodes to feature the ten viable competitors without the need for reshoots or awkwardness.

This series, the show's fifth, had the lowest number of queens (ten), matching the debut series back in 2019.
2. All of the unorthodox materials given to queens to make their own garments in week two came from which of these?

Answer: Pet store

Although the first week of the competition would have the queens showing off three different looks (some in a fashion shoot and some on the main stage), the second week would test their design chops, having them work with odd materials brought in from a local pet supply shop with the aim to create the best outfit for the main stage. Banksie's bandana-made dress wowed the judges, giving her the win over more established seamstresses, while Alexis Saint-Pete and Miss Naomi Carter lip synced in the bottom to "Hot in It" by Tiesto and Charli XCX (with the former being the first queen to leave the competition).
3. According to the Girl Group song this season (seen in week three), the queens are asking "Don't Ick My..." what?

Answer: Yum

Nine queens were asked to split themselves into two slightly-uneven groups in week three so that they could write the lyrics to the newly-made song "Don't Ick My Yum", performing it on the main stage with choreography they pulled together for the judges. Ru and the panel decided that both groups-- Fierce Force Five and The M-52s-- managed strong performances and, as such, sent no one home this week.

Instead, frontrunners (and real-life roommates) Cara Melle and Tomara Thomas competed for the RuPeter Badge with Cara taking the win.
4. The queens had to host DisasterClasses in week four. Which was not a provided topic?

Answer: Drag

With nine queens left, Ru had the girls split into three groups of three (by mini-challenge winner Tomara Thomas) to form impromptu discussions and presentations a la 'MasterClass', wherein they needed to espouse their wisdom on simple topics and bring their own brand of levity to the main stage.

The entirety of the 'Party' team (Ginger Johnson, Michael Marouli, and Tomara Thomas) won this week, with all three queens taking the RuPeter Badge. Cara Melle (from 'Love') and Miss Naomi Carter (from 'Work') faced off as the worst of the week with Miss Naomi being sent home.
5. The Rusical, performed in week five, involved which type of performance?

Answer: Pantomime

It was time for 'Pant-Oh She Better Don't: The Rusical' as the queens neared the midway point of the competition, and after assigning their own roles they hit the main stage for choreography and live singing in what the judges determined was one of the best Rusicals to come from the show.

After celebrating the grand tradition of pantomime, the queens subsequently hit the runway in their best mirror-themed runway looks and Banksie and DeDeLicious were put in the bottom two, forced to lip sync to Susan Boyle's rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream". Early frontrunner Banksie ended up getting sent home in this episode.
6. Following the Snatch Game, the queens walked the runway in garments with which shape theme?

Answer: Heart

As soon as the queens entered the back episodes of the show, Ru hit them with the news that they would be competing in the Snatch Game, bringing their finest celebrity impersonations to the panel in an attempt to make Ru and their special guests laugh. Ginger Johnson won her third challenge in a row with this, playing Dame Barbara Cartland and hitting the main stage in a garment shaped like a literal heart. DeDeLicious (who played Lady Colin Campbell) and Vicki Vivacious (who portrayed Fanny Cradock) were put in the bottom to sing Alexandra Burke's "Heartbreak on Hold" for their lip sync (in front of the artist herself). Vicki was sent home.
7. The series' seventh episode, in which the queens had to act in faux romantic dramas, contained the only RuPeter Badge win for which contestant?

Answer: Kate Butch

In a series which saw a high number of queens win the RuPeter Badge (seven out of ten competitors), Kate Butch was the last of the bunch to get their first, doing so after the acting challenge and pajama-themed runway presentation in episode seven. Following this, only one queen remaining in the competition, DeDeLicious, did not walk away with the prize. Week seven, however, saw Cara Melle sent home after her and Michael Marouli's segment, 'Footballers' Wags', failed to impress the judges.

It was Cara's fourth lip sync on the main stage, though her second time in the bottom.
8. This series' makeover challenge involved subjects of both genders.

Answer: True

With only five queens left in the competition, Ru had the remaining contestants face the perennial makeover challenge, partnering them (nearly) at random with representatives of Switchboard, an LGBTQ+ helpline service from the UK. With makeover partners varying in age and gender, they had to create a drag family resemblance in the pairing and hit the main stage with the look and attitude in mind to wow the judges. Kate Butch ended up in the bottom for the first time this week, facing DeDeLicious.

The latter proved herself as a lip sync assassin, surviving yet another trip to the bottom and leaving four standing.
9. During the Dragiators Comedy Roast in the penultimate round of the competition, the winning queen did which of the following?

Answer: Tossed away their cue cards

The penultimate round of the competition was the Dragiators Comedy Roast, a roast on the main stage with a wrestling theme, and the final four queens needed to roast each other, the judges' panel, and the eliminated queens. For avoiding elimination the previous episode, DeDeLicious got to choose the order of the queens, but it was she who was eliminated in the end nonetheless, facing off against Tomara Thomas in the bottom two while Michael Marouli took the RuPeter Badge, presenting her set without any need for cue cards, much to the satisfaction of the judges.
10. Which queen won "RuPaul's Drag Race UK" Series 5?

Answer: Ginger Johnson

For the last maxi-challenge of the season, the final three queens had to perform their own original lyrics and complex choreography as they made a music video for RuPaul's track, "Spotlight". Once all the performing was out of the way, they hit the main stage one last time in their finale eleganza and faced the judges' critiques.

This ultimately pushed Tomara Thomas out in third place while Ginger Johnson and Michael Marouli performed one last Lip Sync for the Crown to Erasure's "A Little Respect". And with that, Ru crowned Ginger Johnson the winner of this series, taking home the crown and the opportunity to film a series of her own with World of Wonder.
