Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. General O'Neill has been reassigned to Washington DC, so who are the new leaders of the SGC and SG-1?

Answer: General Hank Landry and Lt Colonel Cameron Mitchell

In 'Avalon' we meet Cam Mitchell, and through flashbacks learn that he led the dogfight over Antarctica when Anubis attacked Earth (season 7's 'Lost City'). Expecting to lead SG-1, Mitchell is somewhat surprised to find that the members that he regards as SG-1 have disbanded: Carter has gone to Area 51, Teal'c is helping to build the new Free Jaffa Nation, and Daniel is about to head off to Atlantis.
2. Vala Mal Doran arrives at the SGC and convinces SG-1 to help her find Ancient treasures that are hidden on which planet?

Answer: Earth

Vala convinces SG-1 to help her and, by putting Kor Mak bracelets on herself and Daniel (so they cannot be separated without risking death), ensures she is taken along. Using Prometheus, SG-1 find a cavern beneath Glastonbury Tor.
3. Amongst the treasures that SG-1 find is an Ancient communication device which transfers Daniel's and Vala's consciousnesses where?

Answer: Ori Galaxy

Daniel and Vala find themselves in the bodies of Harrid and Sallis, in a village in the Ori Galaxy where the villagers follow the religion of Origin. They get into a bit of a pickle when Vala is accused of heresy and burnt alive.
4. After being accused of heresy and subsequently burnt alive, Vala is resurrected by what or whom?

Answer: Prior of the Ori

The staff of the Prior glows and Vala is restored to life. Daniel and Vala are then bid to follow the Prior out of the village where they are taken across the Plains of Celestis to the Ori City of the Gods.
'Avalon' was aired in two parts and had a lot to introduce us to, now that the Goa'uld have been defeated.
5. In 'The Powers That Be' SG-1 learn that Priors have been seen on 43 different worlds, but when visiting PX8-412 what problem do SG-1 face?

Answer: Prior plague

In 'Origin' we learn that now the Ori are aware of the existence of non-believers in the Milky Way Galaxy they will be sending out Priors to convert the non-believers. They do so by infecting the worlds with the Prior plague and demanding the people follow Origin or die. If they agree the Prior heals them. Many worlds fall to the Ori in this way.
6. In 'Beachhead', the Jaffa of Kallana refuse to embrace Origin. What happens to their planet?

Answer: The planet collapses to form a micro-singularity

A force field is placed around the stargate, and it expands under the input of energy from weapons directed at it. Once the force field surrounds the entire planet objects emerge from the stargate that form a large ring - a supergate, which will be powered by the micro-singularity formed by the collapse of Kallana.

The supergate fails when Vala replaces the last link of the gate with a cargo ship: but she vanishes as the energy wave from the collapsing planet breaks apart the unstable ring of the supergate.
7. It seems the Goa'uld are still causing trouble in 'Ex Deus Machina'. Which Goa'uld?

Answer: Ba'al

Ba'al has been hiding out on Earth, and SG-1, now fully reunited, race to find Ba'al before Gerak, the leader of the Jaffa Council. We also find out that Ba'al has been playing around with cloning technology!
8. In 'Prototype' SG-1 find a laboratory and Khalek. Who, or what, is Khalek?

Answer: A human/Goa'uld hybrid created by Anubis

Khalek is found to have telekinetic powers and healing abilities, but is as evil as his 'father'.
9. The Prior plague is spreading across Earth in 'The Fourth Horseman' (the mid-season two-parter) and SG-1 gain help from what unusual source?

Answer: Orlin

Orlin is the disgraced Ancient that Carter encountered in the fifth season episode 'Ascension'. Here he returns in the form of a boy, to try and retain as much of his Ancient knowledge as possible, to help Earth against the Ori.
10. What does Carter develop to aid in the fight against the Priors in 'The Fourth Horseman'?

Answer: The anti-Prior device

The anti-Prior device neutralises the powers of the Priors. In 'The Fourth Horseman' the device is used to allow a blood sample to be taken from the Prior that initiated the plague on Earth, in the hope that this will aid in the development of a vaccine against the Prior plague.
