The Juicer Trivia Quiz

Answer: a waffle iron

Cliff has a history of bringing home new appliances and then barely using them. When Clair finds out about the new juicer she laughs and reminds Cliff of his waffle iron, crepe maker, and sausage stuffer.

She says he only used the waffle iron until the first time that he had to clean it and he never used the crepe maker or the sausage stuffer once.

Theo was standing there with the refrigerator door open because even though he wanted something, he couldn't decide what. Rudy and Peter come in next and Clair arrives last.

Cliff told the kids that the juicer was his and that they were not to touch it. Initially, Peter and Rudy were less than impressed with the idea of drinking a vegetable anyway.

Rudy and Peter were playing loudly with large plastic toy cars in the upstairs hallway. So loudly that Vanessa came out of her room to ask them to keep it down. Clair had to go to the post office to mail a package and Cliff was down in his office which was connected to the house. Clair told Vanessa to watch Rudy and Peter, who were playing in the upstairs hallway until Cliff came back up from his office or she got back.

They told their dad that they didn't do it, nor did they make any effort to clean it up because they thought Cliff would want the person who made the mess to clean it up. Cliff suspected that it was also because there was no way either Theo or Denise would ever volunteer to clean up a mess.

When the juicer when crazy, Peter went running out the front door (as was his running gag in the series). According to his mother, she found him standing up in the clothes hamper and he said, "All I did was hold the bread!"

Vanessa was punished for not watching the kids like she was supposed to, because if she had been watching them this probably wouldn't have happened. Her punishment was to clean all the high spots in the kitchen that Rudy couldn't reach.
Rudy was supposed to clean the floor and any spot low enough for her to reach.
Then Clair punished Cliff, saying that he was also partly to blame for what happened because he went off and left the juicer plugged in with the top off.
Cliff was sentenced by Clair to five years of appliance probation which, as she explained, meant that during that time he could not buy, look at, or touch another new appliance.
