Question 1 of 10
1. "Right! Here we are, students. The Battle Isles. Smell the air, you can smell the competition, oh yes! So, we've just stepped off the boat, and arrived at the Battle Isles. Which town we are in?" Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. "Now, look over there to the north-east. See those three signs? Aidan, put your bow down, they are not targets! Can anyone tell me which of these is NOT written on any of the signs?" Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. "Alright, we are now on the Isle of the Nameless. Do you see that nice-looking chest up there? That, students, is the Zaishen Chest. Nika, I can see you sneaking over there. Get back here! Besides, ordinary lockpicks won't work on it. You must have a Zaishen Key to open it. Who can tell me which of these is NOT a way of obtaining a Zaishen Key?" Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. "Now it's time for some real combat! When you're ready, you can enter the battle, but you won't know who you are teamed up with until the battle starts. It might be a good group, it might be a not-so-good group, either way it's some fun! Oh, I haven't told you where we are yet. Does anyone know?"

Answer: (Two Words)
Question 5 of 10
5. "Next up is the Zaishen Menagerie. Beautiful, isn't it? For all you animal lovers, this is paradise. You can come here any time you like and charm an animal of your choosing, providing, of course, if you have added it to your collection. Wait a sec- oh, never mind. Aidan's got his eyes set on a phoenix by the looks of it. For the rest of you, I'll ask you this: what was the name of the guard that allowed us entry to the Zaishen Menagerie grounds? Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. "And so we come to Heroes' Ascent. This, students, is where the best of the best battle it out for the favour of the gods. Only the mightiest of gladiators will prevail over all other teams, and make it to the Hall of Heroes. Yes, Devona, you'll get your chance, just be patient. This tournament brings together people from all over the world. Who can tell me which title track will be added to with each win?" Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. "If Heroes' Ascent is not really your glass of eggnog, then maybe this is more suited to you. We are now at the Zaishen Challenge outpost. This is intended as additional training in the art of player versus player. The good thing about this is that you can choose which team you fight. I'm sure you're all tired of my questions, but we're nearly done. How about an easy one? What is the maximum party size for the Zaishen Challenge?"

Answer: (Number or word)
Question 8 of 10
8. "Ah, glad to see you all made it through the Zaishen Challenge. I see Mhenlo is tending to some lingering wounds. Welcome to the Zaishen Elite. This is where the true test lies. You'll be battling team after team of Zaishen until you are knocked out. Of course, there are rewards. Each win will reward you with Balthazar faction. Many people come here specifically for the faction, as it is possible to continually beat each enemy team with a well-chosen group. Although, there is a limit on the amount of Balthazar faction you can obtain every 24 hours. Who knows what that limit is?" Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. "And so we come to the Codex Arenas. This used to be the site of the Hero Battle arenas. The Codex Arena is unique, in that you only have a limited pool of skills to choose from, and each person in your team must be of a different primary profession. How many skills are there to choose from per profession?" Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. "Well, that's it. That's the end of our tour of the Battle Isles. I hope you've all learned something today. Just one last question before we board the boat. Cynn, pay attention! On your map, what colour is the marker that indicates your guild hall?" Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Right! Here we are, students. The Battle Isles. Smell the air, you can smell the competition, oh yes! So, we've just stepped off the boat, and arrived at the Battle Isles. Which town we are in?"

Answer: Great Temple of Balthazar

The starting place for new PvP characters, The Great Temple of Balthazar is a bustling town where players from all over the world can meet and participate in all kinds of PvP battles. PvE characters can also arrive here by clicking the boat icon near each of the major port cities on each continent, and selecting 'Great Temple of Balthazar'.
2. "Now, look over there to the north-east. See those three signs? Aidan, put your bow down, they are not targets! Can anyone tell me which of these is NOT written on any of the signs?"

Answer: Zaishen Tournament

Introduced in the Fourth Anniversary Update, the Zaishen Challenges see players completing missions and slaying bosses in any of the campaigns, or participating in PvP battles. By interacting with the appropriate sign, and accepting the quest, you can go out and complete the requirements. By just completing the base objective, you will receive a small amount of Copper Zaishen Coins.

However, if you complete the second- or third-level objectives, you can receive large amounts of Copper Coins. These coins can be traded to Tesla in the Great Temple of Balthazar for goodies, or you can choose to stockpile your coins and trade them for Silver Zaishen Coins, which offer higher level goodies in exchange. If nothing takes your fancy, you can save your Silver Coins and trade them for Gold Zaishen Coins.

These coins can be traded for some really good items from Elite Tomes to Everlasting Crates of Fireworks!
Who can tell me which of these is NOT a way of obtaining a Zaishen Key?"

Answer: By winning all PvP battle types at least once

The Zaishen Chest contains some great items, from Elite Tomes through to Tonics and gold weapons. Opening the chest requires 1 Zaishen Key, and will only drop 1 item. Each time the chest is opened, 5 points will be added to your account-wide Zaishen Allegiance title track.

The title track is similar to the Luxon/Kurzick titles, in that the names of each rank are similar (except the last rank). Players often purchase Zaishen Keys from other players in the Great Temple of Balthazar, so if you are looking for a bit of money, head over there and sell away!
4. "Now it's time for some real combat! When you're ready, you can enter the battle, but you won't know who you are teamed up with until the battle starts. It might be a good group, it might be a not-so-good group, either way it's some fun! Oh, I haven't told you where we are yet. Does anyone know?"

Answer: Random Arenas

Random Arenas is a PvP character's first taste at gladiatorial combat. Two randomly created teams of four players, assembled from waiting players, battle it out in a random arena to determine the stronger group. If your team dominates the competition 10 times in a row, then you will unlock the Team Arenas outpost, and be able to form your own teams and battle others.

Answer: Gate Guard Hirvela

The Zaishen Menagerie was also introduced in the Fourth Anniversary update. The Menagerie allows players to bring pets that they have tamed and have them added to their account-wide pet collection, by speaking to Emryd the Tamer inside the grounds. By leveling your pets and allowing them certain evolutions will enhance the pet taming capabilities of your other characters and heroes.

For example, a low level Ranger can visit the Menagerie and tame a Level 20 pet, providing another character has added the particular pet to the collection. Pets can also be unlocked by speaking to Helena, The Zaishen Keeper, in exchange for Balthazar faction, or a combination of Zaishen Coins and gold.
Who can tell me which title track will be added to with each win?"

Answer: Hero

Heroes' Ascent is where players from all over the world can assemble and fight other teams in continuous knockout tournaments. Each battle can consist of 1 to 3 teams, depending on the arena and combat type. Whenever a team triumphs over the other team, or teams, in the Hall of Heroes, a message is sent out via the chat system to all players, announcing their win. Each win in the Hall of Heroes will reward players with 'fame', which in turn determines their rank within the tournament.

A chest will also appear, containing some goodies for the winning team.

Heroes' Ascent can only be accessed, however, by winning five battles (not necessarily consecutive) in Team Arenas.

Answer: 4

Teams can battle various other teams consisting of members of the Zaishen Order in the Zaishen Challenge. Your team can consist of henchmen, heroes, other players, or a mix of any of these. This allows you to try out various party combinations against the Zaishen, and evaluate their strengths and weaknesses and which parties work well against which opponents. By defeating five of the six enemy teams in the Zaishen Challenge, you will unlock the Zaishen Elite outpost for all characters on your account.
Who knows what that limit is?"

Answer: 6000 Balthazar Faction

The Zaishen Elite is a popular place for players to "farm" Balthazar faction to exchange for Zaishen Keys, by continually defeating the opposing Zaishen team, using special tactics. Only 6000 faction can be obtained every 24 hours, so players don't abuse this system.

A popular team combination is three Rangers specialising in traps, and a nuker (usually a fire Elementalist, or a Monk equipped with various Smiting Prayers skills, including the powerful Ray of Judgment). The Zaishen Challenge only allows 2000 Balthazar Faction to be obtained every 24 hours, and this counts towards your daily faction limit for the 'Challenge' and 'Elite'.
9. "And so we come to the Codex Arenas. This used to be the site of the Hero Battle arenas. The Codex Arena is unique, in that you only have a limited pool of skills to choose from, and each person in your team must be of a different primary profession. How many skills are there to choose from per profession?"

Answer: 20

Replacing Hero Battles is the Codex Arena. Players must create a build from a limited pool of 20 skills per profession (15 normal skills and 5 Elite skills). The Declarations of Honour must be upheld whilst competing in the Codex Arena. "Honour the Codex" means each player must use only the skills provided by the current codex which changes every day; "Honour your Team" means no Heroes or Henchmen are allowed, and every player in the team must be of a different primary profession; "Honour your Profession" means you are only allowed to use Elite skills from your primary profession.
10. "Well, that's it. That's the end of our tour of the Battle Isles. I hope you've all learned something today. Just one last question before we board the boat. Cynn, pay attention! On your map, what colour is the marker that indicates your guild hall?"

Answer: Green

You can visit your guild hall by clicking the marker on your map. The marker is located to the north, in the middle of the map. Players visiting their guild hall from PvE areas can easily travel to any outpost on the Battle Isles by selecting from the map, bypassing the need to travel by boat from the port cities.
