Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who of the following is a Ritualist?

Answer: Razah

Both Olias and Master of Whispers are Necromancers while Margrid the Sly is a Ranger; all three are heroes received by the player character over the course of the game. While Olias is obtained in Maguuma Jungle in Tyria (though only if the player has the "Nightfall" campaign), the other two can be found in Elona; you need to choose one or the other before key missions in Kourna. Razah is the odd one out-- a Ritualist, you need to obtain him quite late in the "Nightfall" campaign. You must complete the 'Finding a Purpose' quest in the Heart of Abaddon (next to the Gate of Anguish in the Realm of Torment).

It's not that easy-- a bunch of high-level Destroyers will be blocking the way.
2. In the "Factions" mission 'The Eternal Grove', how many Tree Singers must survive for you to fully complete the bonus objective?

Answer: All of them

'The Eternal Grove' is a mission located midway through the Kurzick-controlled forests in Southern Cantha; you can get there through Drazach Thicket. To win this mission you need to defend three trees and its Tree Singers from hordes of Luxon attacking from the north, south, and west.

This will progress to twelve waves of the Afflicted. Unlike most other "Factions" missions, this battle is not timed for its bonus; it's entirely reliant on your ability to keep the twelve Tree Singers protecting the trees alive. If any of them die, your Master's Reward is compromised.

The Luxon equivalent of this mission would be Gyala Hatchery.
3. What is the fifth rank in the 'Kind of a Big Deal' title track?

Answer: My Guild Hall Smells of Rich Mahogany

'Kind of a Big Deal' is a fairly reputable prestige title attained by only the most dedicated players and its collection is entirely dependent on your ability to collect the other titles throughout the game. For the first 'Kind of a Big Deal' rank you need to have maxed out five other title tracks.

This maxes out with rank 6-- 'God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals'-- in which you need thirty maxed titles. All of the ranks of these titles allude to lines from the 2004 film "Anchorman". If you reach rank 2, 'People Know Me', you'll be able to collect the Rainbow Phoenix as a pet from your Hall of Monuments in "Eye of the North".
4. The Maguuma Spider is only found within the Maguuma Jungles in Tyria.

Answer: False

While these arachnids do find their home in the northern regions of the Maguuma Jungle, Tyria's westernmost region found in "Guild Wars: Prophecies", they also happen to nest in Majesty's Rest, the westernmost zone in Kryta. These creatures can be obnoxious, relying on pinning down enemies with ranged attacks before striking with its long shots.

As Rangers, these enemies also infuse their attacks with poison to bring down foes. They also make themselves known in 'Aurora Glade' and 'The Wilds', two of the three missions in the jungle.
5. I've just cast 'Ward Against Elements'. Am I a Monk?

Answer: I could be; there's not enough information to know

'Ward Against Elements' is a spell cast in a specific area used to reduce the amount of damage taken from elemental attacks (ie. Fire Magic, Water Magic, Air Magic, and Earth Magic) and it can be cast by Elementalists who use the Earth Magic attribute.

This doesn't mean you need to be an Elementalist to use it, however. You could use this spell if your secondary profession was Elementalist. In other words, Monk (or any other class) could be your primary profession and Elementalist could be the secondary so you could use it provided points are put into the correct category.

This means there is not enough info to answer the question adequately; you could be any primary profession and still get it. This is a basic ward spell learned from early skill trainers in "Prophecies".
6. In which city can you purchase Vabbian Armor?

Answer: The Kodash Bazaar

While Vabbian Armor isn't the latest armor you find in the "Nightfall" campaign it is perhaps one of the most expensive you'll find anywhere across the entirety of "Guild Wars" because its material requirements are pricey and rare to come by. For the entire set you'll spend 25 platinum, but you'll also need to use Sapphires and Rubies (which are very expensive to buy) to craft it. For this reason, Vabbian Armor and Obsidian Armor (the most expensive core armor set) give one Hall of Monument reward point each.

The Kodash Bazaar is the major town of Vabbi in Elona's northeast expanses.
7. Which of these reputation tracks can you not build up in the "Eye of the North" regions?

Answer: Lightbringer

Lightbringer points (along with Sunspear points) are both received from questing and visiting the shrines of Elona in "Nightfall" while the other tracks make progress in "Eye of the North". The Norn can be helped in the Far Shiverpeaks, the Ebon Vanguard give reputation in the Charr Homelands, and the Asura are assisted along the Tarnished Coast.

In addition to these, Dwarves give reputation for work completed in the dungeons of "Eye of the North". All of these reputations result in armor when you reach rank 5 as well as skills unique to each faction group.

The other faction you can receive, particularly in "Guild Wars: Factions" (in Cantha) are Luxon and Kurzick. Balthazar and Imperial Faction are also built up through PvP battles.
8. The Kurzicks have invaded the Luxon lands all the way up to Cavalon. This means that you will be fighting Alliance Battles in which arena?

Answer: Kaanai Canyon

In this form of PvP added to the game in "Guild Wars: Factions", you join parties by accessing arenas through your guild hall and compete twelve vs. twelve (in parties of four) to collect capture points on a map; each map contains seven of these. When your faction attains five hundred points, you win and faction is doled out accordingly. For many years, this was the easiest way to raise alliance faction, capture towns and cities for your side, and obtain Amber or Jade for elite armor sets in Cantha. If the Kurzick side has invaded enough Luxon land the game will be played in the Luxon-favored map, Kanaai Canyon. Partial cover of Luxon land (by the Kurzick) will mean the game is played in the Etnaran Keys. Neutral ground covered results in Saltspray beach and the further the Luxon move into the forests you'll play in Grenz Frontier and the Ancestral Lands.
9. If you happen to defeat Lich and complete the campaign of "Prophecies", what is the name of the porcine creature who appears with the rare weapon crafters in Droknar's Forge?

Answer: Oink

Oink the Pig has no major importance in the game though he is charming. If you're heading to Lion's Arch you can complete a quest to return Oink to his owner, Cheswick, in the 'Gates of Kryta' mission or you can bring him along throughout to attack enemies. Since Oink is invulnerable to attacks he can be a useful ally in battle while you have him. Because of his unique nature in the game he's relatively well-received by fans. He is one of very few characters to greet you after your battle against Lich.
If you click on Oink and read his dialogue, all he says is "Oink!"
10. In which mission must you battle a doppelganger of yourself?

Answer: Augury Rock

Augury Rock is the fourth of five missions in the desert of Tyria (in the southeast) and it's the only one in the "Prophecies" campaign which requires that you complete it solo. In this mission you face off against a doppelganger version of yourself with the same attacks.

This mission can prove difficult, especially in Hard Mode, if you don't have good strategy or skill sets. To get the bonus in normal mode you have to win in ten minutes, an easily doable task, but in Hard Mode you have only two, so every second counts. All of the professions have clever ways of rendering the opponent helpless (especially with skills received in "Eye of the North") in addition to gimmick spell bars which should make short work of your mirrored double. 'Raisu Palace' is a mission in "Factions", 'Jokanur Diggings' is in "Nightfall", and 'Thirsty River' is in the same desert as 'Augury Rock' in "Prophecies'.
