Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The currency found throughout this game is which of the following?

Answer: Lei

Currency was introduced to the "Resident Evil" franchise in "Resident Evil 4" when Leon S. Kennedy visited rural Spain hunting down the President's daughter, and interestingly, "Village" bears the closest resemblance to that game, introducing a merchant character who Ethan can find throughout the storyline to buy from and sell to.

In Spain, Leon paid in Pesetas; in this game, Ethan pays in Lei, which he can find from enemies and hidden spots, but also from selling items and treasures he collects through various means.
2. The first item Ethan can pick up and equip is which of these evergreen weapons?

Answer: Knife

Ethan won't have a need for any offensive items until he gets to the village proper, but when he does, the Knife is the first convenient armament he'll come across, even if he gets the LEMI Handgun almost immediately after. The Knife will remain with Ethan, unupgraded, until the end of the game, and it's particularly useful not only for close-range combat, but for smashing breakable objects and containers.

It might be your last line of defense!
3. This game features a wide variety of coloured herbs for different variations of healing.

Answer: False

Although the game features Herbs in general, there is no differentiating between them as has happened in earlier games (which have featured Green, Red, Yellow, and Blue Herbs for different effects and to showcase different mixtures and combinations.).

Instead, the regular Herb (which is green) can be used in crafting to help Ethan brew up First Aid Meds-- something he can actually use to replenish his health should he end up in a sticky situation. It will happen quite a bit.
4. There are a number of collectibles needed for progression throughout the game. Which of these is collected last?

Answer: Four Molds

The crests come earliest-- you need to get the Maiden Crest from the village church while the Demon Crest is locked in a shrine at Luisa's house (you need a Screwdriver to open it).

Next would be the Masks of Joy, Sorrow, Rage, and Pleasure, all four of which you need to find in Castle Dimitrescu in order to escape the building and reach the Tower of Worship. Three of these are guarded by Lady Dimitrescu's daughters; the last is on the roof of the castle.

The four Flasks, each containing a part of Rose's body, are found in all directions on the map; you need to visit the lords of the village to collect them (often defeating them in doing so). These unlock the route to Heisenberg's Factory...

...where the Molds come in. At the Factory, you can use these Molds in a casting machine to create items (some necessary and some not) to advance to the last stages of the game.
5. The S.T.A.K.E. is which of the following types of guns?

Answer: Magnum

The only variant of the magnum in the game (aside from the M1851 Wolfsbane you can find near Salvatore Moreau's lab near the reservoir), the S.T.A.K.E. is unobtainable in your first playthrough, only becoming purchasable when you load into New Game+ and visit The Duke for the first time at Castle Dimitrescu.

Naturally, and considering the magnum as-is, it's one of the strongest weapons in the game and, thus, has the rarest ammunition.
6. Which of these crafting items is needed to make a First-Aid Med?

Answer: Herb

Ethan needs both an Herb and Chem Fluid to make a First-Aid Med, the only item that he can use to properly replenish his health in the game. Handy in a pinch, these jars of medicines will get doused onto Ethan's wounds to bring him back into working state.

Unfortunately, health in this game is barely quantifiable; you'll be able to determine how hurt you are by visual and auditory changes on your HUD, but also through green, yellow, and red indicators on your inventory screen.
7. Combining 2x Gunpowder, a Rusted Scrap, and Chem Fluid crafts which of the following consumable items?

Answer: Pipe Bomb

There are eleven crafting recipes in "Resident Evil Village", most of which you can purchase from The Duke and then go off and make on your own using crafting components found throughout the game. All of these are consumable items, and a number of them are especially helpful for either large amounts of foes or for bringing down the biggest, toughest ones. Pipe Bombs, for instance, like Mines, are limited in the game, so being able to combine to create them is a great benefit against bosses. Interestingly, the recipe for a Pipe Bomb is the same as the recipe for 4x Sniper Ammo.
8. For permanent upgrades, Ethan can cook in The Duke's Kitchen. Which of these meats could he use to make one of the dishes there?

Answer: Poultry

The Duke's Kitchen doesn't split hairs with a number of its ingredients, at least not in the way you might think. Once Ethan starts finding animals throughout the village he can use his knife to kill them and collect their meats, using them to contribute to permanent upgrades to himself over the course of the game.

Although you may get meats from pigs and goats, all of these are just regarded as 'Meat'; chickens will result in 'Poultry'; fish will just be 'Fish'. There are other rare items (like 'Juicy Game') which will also contribute to these recipes.
9. Which of these treasures is the most valuable to sell?

Answer: Crystal Ancient Beast

The Crystal Ancient Beast, dropped off the Varcolac Alfa in the fallow plot of Old Town, sells for a whopping 80,000 Lei, the highest value you can trade to The Duke in the game, so while this foe may be deadly, sacrificing some of your ammunition and explosives might be worth the trade-off.

Many of the game's tougher enemies (and certainly all of its bosses and mini-bosses) will drop crystal items that can be traded off. Additionally, Ethan will likely find a number of general treasures and combinable items that can also be pawned for cash and used to purchase goods and upgrades.
10. How many Extra Baggage upgrades can Ethan purchase?

Answer: Three

"Resident Evil Village" uses a similar inventory system to "Resident Evil 4" wherein Ethan (or Leon in "4") can open a case to access slots to place gear and other consumables and move them around like a puzzle to make the most efficient use of that space. Larger items take up more slots, and items can be rotated to slot in cleaner. Ethan starts with a certain amount of space but he can upgrade this with the Duke thrice, once for 10,000 Leu, once more for 30,000, and one final time for 50,000.
