Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many bells do you have at the beginning of the game?

Answer: One thousand

This is nowhere near enough to buy a house in your town but kind old Tom Nook allows you to pay back a loan. To get the money you need, you have to do jobs at Nook's store. These include delivering things, planting seeds and meeting your neighbours.
2. What's the name of Tom Nook's third shop?

Answer: Nookway

The first is Nook's Cranny, second is Nook 'n' Go and fourth is Nookingtons. Nook's Cranny is the one you start off with which is not very good. Then there's Nook 'n' Go which is much bigger. Nookway is slightly bigger than Nook 'n' Go and Nookingtons is the last shop, which has two floors.
3. What type of animal is Porter?

Answer: Monkey

If you have a memory card in Slot B which has "Animal Crossing" data and talk to Porter, you can visit that town! On the train, you'll meet Rover, who helped you find a house at the beginning of the game. Now he's become a bit annoying...
4. If you're visiting another town, who gives you a map?

Answer: Copper

Copper is the police dog who stands outside the police station. He's quite slim and he'll give you some tips if you ask him. Anyway, to get a map for another town, just talk to him and ask "I need a map!".
5. Who is the wolf which sells rare items?

Answer: What wolf?!

That was a trick question! However, there is a fox named Crazy Redd who does sell rare items at a black market.
6. Which of these animals do NOT exist?

Answer: Jacqueline

Blaire is a squirrel, Hopper's a penguin and Axel's an elephant. Jacqueline is made up.
7. Who is the ghost that comes out at night?

Answer: Wisp

He'll be out from 12:00 am to 4:00 am. Finding him can be quite tough. Search your whole town and if you hear a voice coming from "??????" then Wisp is in that acre. He'll ask you to catch five spirits around your town with your net and if you do, he'll reward you!
8. Which of these K.K. songs do NOT exist?

Answer: K.K. Dance

K.K. Slider is the first animal you'll ever meet in the whole game. He is a dog who plays a guitar and every Saturday evening, he'll be at the train station to play some tunes. You can either request one or get a completely random one. His songs are usually pretty good and while he plays, the credits roll.
9. Which sort of animal is not in the game?

Answer: Hamsters

There are a lot of mice and alligators but there is only one octopus named Octavian. Anyway, they probably didn't put hamsters in the game because they're too similar to mice.
10. On what day does Joan come to sell turnips?

Answer: Sunday

Every week, Joan the boar will come to your town to sell turnips. She sells them at completely random prices each week. The aim is to buy as many turnips as you can and then go to Tom Nook's store and see if he'll buy them at a higher price than Joan was selling them at.
11. Which of these animals is NOT a hawk?

Answer: Jay

Jay is a bird, but not a hawk. Hawks are quite similar except that they walk in a much different way and they're taller.
12. Which of these animals is NOT a frog?

Answer: Leaper

I made up Leaper, all the others are frogs. For some reason they walk on two legs instead of four.
13. Who is Mr. Resetti's brother?

Answer: Don

He really doesn't show up very much. He's much nicer than his brother and he's not as fat either.
14. Who runs the museum?

Answer: Blathers

He's the one who takes in all the donations. There are four types of donations, these are: fossils, paintings, insects and fish. Anyway, Blathers is very smart and sometimes goes on and on about something, hence his name.
15. What's the name of the turtle who rows you to Animal Island?

Answer: Kapp'n

If you have a Game Boy Advance connected to your GameCube, you can visit Animal Island! You need to go down to the Dock and talk to Kapp'n. On the way to the Island, Kapp'n will sing a song about cucumbers. Weird...
