Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In order for the game to start, the Family must have someone playing as Leatherface. Are there any character prerequisites for the Victims to start a match?

Answer: No

As this is the Texas 'Chain Saw' Massacre, it makes sense that the Family must have Leatherface. Of course, this logic doesn't extend to the Victims, making it easy to see why nobody in particular is required to start a game.
2. The first order of business for all Victims is escaping the basement. Between the four of them, at least one must collect this item in order to do so. What item is mandatory in order to escape the basement?

Answer: Unlock Tool

There are four doors out of the basement, and all of them start the game locked. None of The Family are allowed to tamper with these doors until Grandpa is woken up and, even if they do open and close the door behind them, it remains locked for Victims.

As such, at least one Unlock Tool must be used by at least one Victim in order for anyone to get out of the basement. Fortunately, there are Unlock Tools sitting around all over the basement, so this isn't exactly an easter egg hunt.
3. Bone Scraps are a useful tool that can help get Victims out of a jam, mess with The Hitchhiker's traps, and cut down Noisemakers. Where can the majority of these be found?

Answer: The Basement

Bone Scraps can be used to stun The Family if used on them from behind. If used from the front, a Close Encounter will begin. Either way, the Bone Scrap will be consumed if used in this way, as well as if tinkering with The Hitchhiker's traps. But Bone Scraps will never be consumed taking down Noisemakers.
4. Health items are fairly straightforward- they heal Victims. However, it may be best to keep a watchful eye on them before using them, as one Family member can tamper with them, reducing or negating their effectiveness. What Family member can interact with Health items?

Answer: Sissy

Sissy can poison these items, preventing them from healing Victims and instead poisoning them. When poisoned, Victims will be unable to move in straight lines, will move more slowly, the player's screen will be blurred and their location will briefly be revealed at a fairly moderate proximity.
5. There are four exits Victims can use. On the Family House, only one exit will not require the use of an Unlock Tool and, thus, requires Victims to do less to access than other exits. What item must Victims interact with instead of Unlock Tools?

Answer: Power generator

On the Family House in particular, this exit is easy to access. All the Victim has to do is turn the generator off, then book it down the driveway for an escape. On all maps, turning the generator off will make a profound auditory effect across the map, so Family members are certain to know what is going on.

As such, it is thankful that the Family House generator exit does not then require the Victim to use an Unlock Tool to escape.
6. Another outdoor escape option will require Victims to interact with an object, then use an Unlock Tool to lockpick the gate to freedom. What object is interacted with here?

Answer: Car battery

Unlike the generator, the car battery gives no noticeable cue to anyone other than the player interacting with it when it gets turned off. As such, the decision of whether to lockpick the gate or turn the battery off comes down to the strengths of the character being played; Sonny and Connie can handle the lock more quickly, while Ana, Leland and Julie will be more efficient with the battery.
7. If played carefully, Victims can find that the very basement they spawn in can grant access to an escape option. What item must be interacted with to use the Basement Exit?

Answer: Fuse

The Victim must locate a Fuse, locate the Fuse Box, perform a small math mini-game made for five year olds, and then the Basement Exit will temporarily open. It will close by itself sixty seconds after being opened, where it may be re-opened upon interacting with the Fuse Box again.
8. If you or your friends hear what sounds like a train horn nearby, that is no locomotive- it's an escape option, about to either open or close. What item must be interacted with to trigger this?

Answer: Valve

Like the Basement Exit, the Valve Exit will be open for 60 seconds once it has been activated. If left alone, the train horn sound will play when this time has half elapsed. However, unlike the Basement Exit, the Valve Exit does not immediately open when activated.

It will open 60 seconds after being interacted with, during which The Family can interact with it themselves to shut it down. If The Family does not do this, the train horn sound will play when the sixty seconds prior to being opened has half elapsed.
9. During the opening stages of a match, The Family will not be able to move, while The Victims can. While The Victims get started, The Family is witnessing one Victim character get executed amidst a cutscene. What Victim character is this?

Answer: A character not selected by a player in that game

There are four Victims, and more characters than can fit a lobby. Any character not selected will be the one getting executed during the cutscene that The Family watches. This tenderized character can be spotted by all players when traversing the Leatherface Lair of the basement.
10. Earning experience points is paramount to developing characters in this game. Which Victim action of the following generates the most experience points?

Answer: Stabbing Grandpa

Stabbing Grandpa earns 250 points. Escaping the basement gains 100, removing Noisemakers gains 50, and Escaping Restraints earns nothing at all.
