The code .ag is used by the Caribbean nation of Antigua and Barbuda and is derived from the 'a' and 'g' in Antigua. The code is also sometimes favoured by businesses in German speaking companies where the acronym AG (standing for Aktiengesellschaft) is used to denote a limited company with publicly traded shares.
2. .al
Answer: Albania
The code .al was introduced in 1992 and is used by the European nation of Albania. Initially .al domains were only allowed to be registered by citizens of Albania but since 2012 have been available to anyone. The .al code is also sometimes used by those in the US state of Alabama which is often abbreviated to AL.

Answer: Belgium
.be is the country code for the European nation of Belgium. The code is also used by the website YouTube for their short form URLs by making use of the domain hack whereby the domain youtu.be looks like the word YouTube.
4. .bj
Answer: Benin
.bj is used by the west African nation of Benin. The code was first introduced in 1996 by which time the domains .be (Belgium), .bn (Brunei) and .bi (Burundi) were already allocated leading to Benin using the code .bj despite not having the letter j in its name. The letter j was chosen as it is adjacent to i in the alphabet and the code .bj was not already in use.

Answer: Switzerland
The European country Switzerland uses the code .ch. The letters ch were selected based on the Latin name of the country which is Confoederatio Helvetica or the Helvetic Confederation in English. The code was derived from Latin in order not to prioritise one of the four official languages of Switzerland which use different spellings for the name of the country.
The code is used widely in Switzerland and is also used globally to create domain hacks where it is used for words that have 'ch' at the end, ie the word 'crunch' could become the domain crun.ch.

Answer: Chile
.cl is the code used by Chile, a country in South America. Domains with this code are administered by the organisation NIC Chile which is based at the University of Chile. Since 2013 domains using .cl have been available to be registered by anyone in the world. In 2005 .cl domains using accented letters were made available.
7. .de
Answer: Germany
.de is used by the European nation Germany. The named is derived from the name of the country in the German language which is Deutschland. The code .de was first assigned to West Germany in 1986. East Germany was assigned the code .dd after the name of the country in German which was the Deutsche Demokratische Republik, however this code was never actually used and following German reunification in 1990 .dd was withdrawn with .de being used for the united Federal Republic of Germany.

Answer: Algeria
.dz is the country code for the north African nation of Algeria. The code is derived from the local Arabic name of the country which is Dzayer. .dz domains are administered by the DZ Network Internet Centre and are only available to people or organisations based in Algeria.

The European country Estonia uses the code .ee which is derived from the Estonian language name of the country which is Eesti. The domain was introduced in 1992 and originally registrations were limited to one per person / entity, however in 2010 these rules were relaxed and it is now possible for owners to have unlimited .ee domains registered.

Answer: Eritrea
.er is used by the east African nation of Eritrea and was established in 1996 following the country gaining independence from Ethiopia in the early 1990s. The registration of .er domains is handled by the state-owned telecommunications company EriTel however there is no known website for registering domains and very few .er domains have ever been registered.

Answer: Finland
The European country Finland uses the .fi code. .fi was first registered in 1986 and is managed by the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency known as TRAFICOM. Initially TRAFICOM were very strict about who could register .fi domains with only company names or names of trademarks owned by companies allowed however this was relaxed in 2003 and in 2006 individuals in Finland were able to apply for a .fi domain. Finally in 2016 .fi registrations were opened up to anyone anywhere in the world.
12. .fo
Answer: Faroe Islands
.fo is used for the Danish territory of the Faroe Islands. It is primarily used for companies and organisations based in or otherwise connected to the islands. The .fo domain is subject to strict registration restrictions and domains ending .fo are expected to only be in the name of a trademark owned by or the legal name of the entity registering.
