Despite what most people think, the Sphinx is not one of the seven ancient wonders.

Answer: Callimachus of Cyrene

Callimachus of Cyrene lived from 305BC-240BC. All we know about this collection is its title because it was destroyed with the Alexandria Library.

This building project was started around 290 BC and Ptolemy Soter never got to see the finished wonder. Alexander the Great was the previous ruler to Ptolemy Soter and Ibn Battuta was an Arab traveller of the 14th century.
