After Anwar Sadat was assassinated in Cairo by Islamists on October 6th, 1981 Hosni assumed the position of Prime Minister. He held that post until January 2nd, 1982. Ahmad Fuad Mohieddin succeeded him as Prime Minister. He became Egypt's president on October 14th, 1981.

Answer: May 4th, 1928 and in Kafr-El-Meselha

Kafr-El-Meselha is located in the Monufia Governorate, in north Egypt. His father was an inspector of the Ministry of Justice. He joined the Egyptian Military Academy after completing high school. During 1949, he gained a Bachelor's degree in Military Science. After this, he joined Egypt's Air Force Academy, and earned a further Bachelor's degree in Aviation Sciences.

Starting in February 1959, Hosni was a student at the Soviet pilot training school in Moscow. Hosni was trained to operate two planes, the LU-28 and the Tupolev Tu-16 bomber. Gamal Mubarak was born in 1963 and is highly involved in politics, unlike his older brother Alaa. Gamal attended St. George's College for his early education, and then became a student at the American University in Egypt's capital Cairo. After graduating after earning a business degree, he worked in investment banking. Around 2006, Gamal became the deputy secretary general of the National Democratic Party.

As of March 2010, Gamal has denied any interest in succeeding Hosni as president of Egypt.
