1. Belgium

Answer: Palace of Laeken

Located in the Belgian capital of Brussels, the Palace of Laeken was originally built in 1782. The Royal Greenhouses of Laeken are attached to the palace and open to the public for a short period each summer. The greenhouses are home to large collections of camellias, orange trees and many other plants not native to Belgium.
2. Denmark

Answer: Amalienborg Palace

The official residence of the Danish royal family is actually four identical palaces located around a central square. Originally, the area was built to house noble families. However, after Christianborg Palace burned down in 1794, it became the home of the royal family.
3. Liechtenstein

Answer: Vaduz Castle

Liechtenstein is a double-landlocked country located in the Alps of Europe and is home to only around 40,000 people. The Princely Family of Liechtenstein has lived in Vaduz Castle since 1712.
4. Luxembourg

Answer: Grand Ducal Palace

What is now the official home of the Grand Ducal Family of Luxembourg was actually originally the City Hall of Luxembourg. During the German occupation in World War II, the Grand Ducal Palace was used by the Nazis as a concert hall and tavern, destroying much of the palace's furniture, art collections and jewels.
5. Monaco

Answer: The Prince's Palace

In addition to being a fully working palace and the home of the Princely family of Monaco, the Prince's Palace is also a tourist attraction. The state rooms are open to the public during the summer, and the palace's courtyard regularly hosts concerts put on by the Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra.

The courtyard is also used to host the annual children's Christmas party. During this event, all children living in Monaco are invited to see elves, acrobats, and even Santa himself.
6. The Netherlands

Answer: Noordeinde Palace

Technically, the Netherlands is home to three official royal palaces. Noordeinde Palace was originally a privately-owned farmhouse. The royal family moved into the palace in the early 1800s.
7. Spain

Answer: Palace of Zarzuela

While the official residence of the Spanish royal family is the Royal Palace of Madrid, the Palace of Zarzuela is their private home and is not open to the public.
8. Sweden

Answer: Drottingholm Palace

Drottingholm Palace is the private home of the Swedish royal family and is actually located on an island in the capital of Stockholm. The palace complex includes a church, a theater, and multiple gardens. In 1991, the palace was named a UNESCO world heritage site.
9. United Kingdom

Answer: Buckingham Palace

Perhaps the most famous palace in the world, Buckingham Palace is the administrative headquarters of the British royal family and is traditionally the London home of the reigning monarch. During World War II, the palace was bombed nine times. The King and Queen at the time famously refused to leave the palace.
10. Japan

Answer: The Imperial Palace

The Imperial Palace, located in Tokyo, contains several buildings and is both the private home and administrative headquarters of the Japanese Emperor. The complex is also home to a museum, an official archive, a music hall, and multiple gardens.
