Larry Doby(1923-2003) was an American professional baseball player and the second African-American to play in MLB. He was however the first to play in the American League, on July 5, 1947 for the Cleveland Indians. He finished his career in 1957 with 253 home runs. Satchel Paige (1906-1982) was the first African-American to pitch in a World Series in 1948 in which his team, with teammate Larry Doby, won the World Series against the Boston Braves. 5. John Adams was the first Vice President of the United States under the Constitution. Who was the second?

From Quiz First Amongst Sequels

Answer: Thomas Jefferson

While all four men were early Vice Presidents, Thomas Jefferson was the second (1797-1801). The original guidelines of the constitution stated that the presidential candidate who received the second largest number of electoral votes became Vice President. Jefferson (Republican or Democratic-Republican) belonged to a different political party than the President, John Adams (Federalist). Although the two men had worked together during the Revolutionary War, they grew apart as they pursued different political goals in the 1790s. After Jefferson's presidency, when both men were in retirement, they became friendlier again and began their famous exchange of letters.

From Quiz The Last in Line

Answer: 1970

The song was written and sung by George Harrison, and is also the title of Harrison's autobiography. The song was released on the "Let It Be" album. The decision to include the song on the album was a last minute pick, so the group needed to quickly make a formal recording, and quick. John Lennon was not part of the recording, as he was on vacation in Denmark at the time. Lennon had privately left The Beatles, so it was unclear whether he'd show up to begin with.

9. During the expansive 19th century, which western US state or territory first allowed women the right to vote in 1869?

There were approximately six men for every woman in the territory at the time. Source: History.com (submitted by rbutcher42)

The key here is the phrase "on the television show". Cushing did portray an inventor named "Doctor Who" in two feature films "Dr. Who and the Daleks" (1965) and "Daleks--Invasion Earth 2150 AD" (1966). Troughton, Pertwee and Baker are the second, third, and fourth Doctors, respectively. Patrick Troughton portrayed the Doctor for three seasons (1966-1969). The on-air explanation for the change in the Doctor's appearance was that the Time Lords periodically underwent a change called regeneration.
