Answer: Sayoko

Even though Sayoko was successful at impersonating Lelouch, she acted differently when she impersonated him. In order to make the students happy, Sayoko offered dates to many of the girls at school. When Lelouch came back he was overwhelmed with hundreds of dates.

The next episode will explain that Lelouch's memories were altered by his father, Emperor Charles Zi Britannia, with geass. In the season one finale when Suzaku and Lelouch shot each other it did not show what happened after the shots were fired. Lelouch only shot off Suzaku's earpiece while Suzaku shot off Lelouch's gun and lunged at him. Suzaku then turned him in to the emperor. Charles decided not to kill his son instead to alter his memories. Using his own geass, Charles made Lelouch forget about being Zero, having a sister named Nunally, and being a Britannian prince. He also added that Lelouch had a brother named Rolo which would replace Nunally.

His mother, Marianne vi Britannia, was originally Marianne Lamperouge. She was also called "Marianne the Flash" when she was a Knightmare pilot. She seems to have some sort of connection with C.C., and seems to especially enjoy teasing her about her feelings towards Lelouch. Her assassination is the reason Lelouch denounced his place as a Prince of Britannia, and he and Nunally assumed her name in order to successfully hide out at the Ashford Academy.

Princess Euphemia was the one that wanted Suzaku to save her sister. Cornelia felt ashamed that an Honorary Britannian came to save her; she would had only accepted help from full Britannians. With the rest of the Britannian knightmare frames either trapped from Kallen's mudslide or were too far away to arrive in time, Suzaku showed up in the fastest knightmare frame and saved Cornelia.

Before C.C. gave Lelouch the geass, she told him that he must keep a contract with her to receive the power. The exact details of the contract were revealed later in the series. C.C. told Lelouch that he could get out of this situation alive if he had the power of geass. Lelouch used his geass on the soldiers telling them to kill themselves which they did. Lelouch knew that with this power he could make anyone do anything he wanted. Later on he learns that although this power is great it can also be a curse.

With this new device, Jeremiah had the ability to get rid of geass used on all people within a certain radius. In addition with the Geass Canceler Jeremiah is unaffected by anyone else's geass. Shirley's father was not involved in combat; he died from the artificial mudslide created by Kallen that destroyed most of the town. Before this moment, Lelouch never thought of the innocent lives that were lost while the Britannians and the Black Knights battled each other. He was very good friends with Shirley and he felt very guilty for being responsible of her father's death. He later erases her memories with his geass about her father's death in the episode "Geass vs. Geass".

Suzaku was the son of the former Prime Minister of Japan now called Area 11. He was Lelouch's childhood friend however they had two very different philosophies on how to make the world a better place. Lelouch believed in taking out the powerful Britannian Empire by a rebellion. Suzaku believed that if he was working for the Britannian Empire, he would rise in the ranks and have a say into changing Britannia's ways of imperialism. Although Lelouch and Suzaku were very good friends, they ended up fighting each other in the war between the Britannians and the Japanese. Ironically Lelouch, a former Britannian prince, was fighting for the Japanese while Suzaku, a natural born Japanese citizen, was fighting for the Britannians.

Calares was killed at Babel Tower; Zero had the tower fall on him and the knightmares defending him. Calares was incompetent at battling which led to his death. Guilford volunteered to take over as temporary viceroy not for political reasons but to stop Zero. Many of the Black Knights were captured and Guilford challenged Zero to a fight. He threatened to execute the captured Black Knights if Zero did not show up to fight. Prior to becoming viceroy, Guilford was Princess Cornelia's knight; her whereabouts were unknown at this point. Eventually Zero's sister, Nunally vi Britannia becomes viceroy of Area 11.

Kallen Kozuki, her Japanese name, or Kallen Stadtfeld, her Britannian name used in Ashford Academy was born to a Japanese mother and a Britannian father. She joined Lelouch, not knowingly at first, to rebel against Britannia. Her parents divorced but they still live with each other. Her mother was hired as a maid but was treated poorly because she was Japanese. Kallen wanted to liberate Japan so that she and her mother could live a better life. Kallen became the top pilot of the knightmare frame Guren and was one of Lelouch's most valuable members in his rebellion group.

Rolo was a member of the Office of Secret Intelligence and was trained to spy and kill. He never had true emotions for people except for Lelouch. His assignment was to act as Lelouch's younger brother and if it any point Lelouch regained his memories of being Zero, Rolo would kill him. Rolo at first was a liability for Lelouch but when he convinced Rolo that they were truly brothers, Rolo became an ally from that point on.

Milly's family arranges the marriage as an attempt to regain some status, while Lloyd simply wants the designs of the Knightmare Frame "Ganymede" that was test piloted by Marianne. He is head of the research team "Camelot" and the creator of the "Lancelot". Suzaku Kururugi is the pilot of Lloyd's Lancelot and quite fancied with Euphemia, while Kanon Maldini is a subordinate of Prince Schneizel, and Kizuna Kagesaki is a deceased member of the Black Knights.

C.C. gave Mao geass before she gave the power to Lelouch. Even though Mao's geass became so powerful that he could not stop reading people's minds when they were within 500 meters away from him, he was able to focus his geass on one person only listening to their thoughts. Mao fell in love with C.C. because she was the only one he could have a conversation with, his geass had no effect on her.

Zero always wore a mask and cape. Lelouch also had a voice modifier in the mask so that no one could recognize his voice. Zero became a symbol of hope for Japanese citizens and a symbol of one of the biggest enemies Britannia had ever dealt with.

C.C. once had geass of her own. Her geass had the ability to make everyone around her love her. It was revealed in this episode that geass could only be given by someone who had a code. This code makes them immortal and the code could only be taken away by someone with a powerful enough geass. When this occurs the person with geass now inherits the code losing their geass while the person with the code is a regular human once more. C.C. was tricked into inheriting a code and as she called herself becoming an "immortal witch". She was tired of living forever and wanted Lelouch to take her code which would ultimately end her life. Lelouch refused to do so but Emperor Charles was willing to. Lelouch was able to take C.C. away from the emperor and the Sword of Akasha but C.C. lost her memories of ever having a code or geass.

Gino Weinberg, the Knight of Three, was a seventeen year old who grew up in a very wealthy family. He was not sure what it was like to live like an average person which was why he enrolled. He was very friendly and sociable. Gino is an excellent pilot and the knightmare he used is the Tristan. Anya Alstreim, the Knight of Six, was a fifteen year old who piloted the knightmare Mordred. Unlike Gino, she was antisocial and did not seem to care about the world around her. She also had a poor memory and relied on pictures from her cell phone to remember recent events. The reason of her poor memory was revealed later in the series. Bismarck Waldstein was the Knight of One and the highest ranked Knights of the Round. Even though he was the best fighter out of all of the knights, he personally believed that war should be the last resort. His knightmare was the Galahad. Luciano Bradley, the Knight of Ten, was nicknamed the "vampire of Britannia". He was a very confrontational person and had an obsession with death and destruction. He was disliked by the other knights and often verbally abused them. His knightmare was the Percival.

I say nearly all, because it's often overlooked that unlike Schneizel, Euphemia, Cornelia, Lelouch, Nunnaly, Rolo, the Emperor, and even lady Marianne, it was lone Clovis who had blue eyes. Granted, this is only a small few of the Britannian Royal family, but it is the majority actually seen in "Code Geass".

With Mao's obsession with C.C., he kidnapped her and attempted to saw her legs off with a chain saw, his thought process was that she could not leave him if her legs were cut off. Lelouch managed to distract Mao with a pre-recorded conversation to give the Britannian police enough time to find Mao at the amusement park. Lelouch thought that Mao died from the many shots fired by the police but he survived. If he geassed the police to "kill" instead of "shoot" then Mao would have died there. Managing to survive the shooting and escape from the police, Mao kidnaps Lelouch's sister Nunally. Lelouch and Suzaku save her from him in the next episode "Nunally Held Hostage".

Cornelia li Britannia was the second princess in line to the Britannian throne. She believed that Britannia was the superior nation and race. She became Zero's first enemy and was an excellent knightmare pilot and leader. Her sister, Third Princess Euphemia became friends with Suzaku.

Answer: Lelouch learned that Suzaku killed his father

Using his mind reading geass, Mao revealed that Suzaku killed his father to end the war between the Britannians and the Japanese. Suzaku knew his father would refuse to surrender and he thought that this would end the war if the Prime Minister of Japan died which it did. The adults around Suzaku lied for him and told the media that the Prime Minister committed suicide. Suzaku did not learn about Lelouch being Zero until the finale of season one which was appropriately titled "Zero".

Lelouch knew that if anyone found Zero's mask on the Ashford Academy campus that it would be over for him. The cat ended up on the roof with the mask and Lelouch managed to get the mask back without anyone knowing. Even though Suzaku kept Arthur, the cat did not like him and bit him frequently in the series.

Lelouch was prepared for this and geassed Lord Guilford to see him as Princess Cornelia. Since Guilford was Cornelia's knight he would do anything to protect her from danger and he was able to set Lelouch free.

Lelouch became Zero and fought against the Britannian empire to make a better world for his sister Nunally. Since Nunally became viceroy of Area 11, Lelouch knew she was well protected by the Britannians so there was no point in fighting them anymore. Lelouch became depressed and was questioning his purpose of being Zero anymore. He was going to use refrain to "bring him back to the good old days" until Kallen saw him and told him that the Black Knights still needed Zero. Rolo wanted Lelouch to be happy and thought that if he forgot about the Black Knights that would happen. C.C. did not care if Lelouch became Zero again; she just wanted him to remain alive to fulfill their contract.

It was very shocking that Euphemia chose an Honorary Britannian as her knight; many Britannians thought that only naturally born Brtiannians should be considered worthy of knighthood. Suzaku accepted the position and was willing to protect and serve Euphemia at any cost.
