Rolo killed Shirley because she was aware that Nunally and Lelouch were related. Rolo thought that could reveal that Lelouch regained his memories and that the Emperor would go out and kill him. Rolo used his geass to stop time and shot Shirley. Authorities ruled her death as a suicide.

He actually blamed the power of geass for her death and many others. Rolo did tell Lelouch that he killed Shirley but Lelouch was more upset over geass since that caused the deaths of both Shirley and Princess Euphemia. Lelouch then gave all of his efforts to destroy V.V.'s geass laboratory which he was able to do successfully.

C.C. once had geass of her own. Her geass had the ability to make everyone around her love her. It was revealed in this episode that geass could only be given by someone who had a code. This code makes them immortal and the code could only be taken away by someone with a powerful enough geass.

When this occurs the person with geass now inherits the code losing their geass while the person with the code is a regular human once more. C.C. was tricked into inheriting a code and as she called herself becoming an "immortal witch".

She was tired of living forever and wanted Lelouch to take her code which would ultimately end her life. Lelouch refused to do so but Emperor Charles was willing to. Lelouch was able to take C.C. away from the emperor and the Sword of Akasha but C.C. lost her memories of ever having a code or geass.

Lelouch was worried about Nunally's safety as the war between Britannia and the Black Knights was heading back to Japan. Lelouch hoped that by telling Suzaku the truth about everything that he would be willing to protect her since he cared about her as much as Lelouch did. Suzaku did not forgive Lelouch for what he did but he did agree to protect Nunally.

Prince Schneizel had Suzaku wired and had audio proof that Lelouch was Zero and that he had the power of geass. Lelouch was then quickly captured by Britannian soldiers. Lelouch was prepared for this and geassed Lord Guilford to see him as Princess Cornelia. Since Guilford was Cornelia's knight he would do anything to protect her from danger and he was able to set Lelouch free.

Suzaku's knightmare, the Lancelot, was severely damaged and could not take any more attacks. By releasing the F.L.E.I.J.A. it would destroy his enemies giving him time to escape. The F.L.E.I.J.A. warhead destroyed much of Tokyo killing millions in the process.

After Schneizel showed the Black Knights proof of Zero's geass the group was willing to turn him in to Britannia in exchange for Japan to become an independent nation. Lelouch thought there was no way out but Rolo was able to rescue him from Schneizel and the Black Knights. Rolo's geass became too strong which caused his heart to stop completely which killed him. With the Britannians and the Black Knights against him Lelouch heads back to Kamine Island to trap himself and Emperor Charles in the Sword of Akasha.

It was Prince Schneizel who wanted to overthrow the emperor. He noticed that the emperor does not seem to care about Britannia's well being anymore. In the next episode "The Ragnarök Connection" we learn that the emperor actually wanted to destroy "this world of lies". Princess Cornelia and Suzaku agreed with Schneizel's plan and Suzaku even volunteered to kill Emperor Charles himself.

Even though Lady Marianne's body was killed by V.V. her soul lived on in Anya Alstreim's body which explained why Anya had trouble with her memory. Marianne had geass that allowed her to do this. Charles and Marianne wanted to destroy what they thought was an evil world.

They explained that they were doing this for Lelouch and Nunally. Lelouch was still upset that they abandoned them for eight years. He also disagreed with their plan of using the Sword of Akasha to destroy the world he believed that people should live out their lives. Lelouch was able to use his geass on the collective unconscious mind of humanity within the Sword of Akasha to banish Charles and Marianne from existence. One month later Lelouch declared himself Emperor of Britannia.

The Damocles was built at the Britannian capital Pendragon. In order for it to launch into the sky F.L.E.I.J.A.'s had to be used which destroyed most of the city and many innocent victims in the process. With all of the F.L.E.I.J.A.'s inside the fortress, Prince Schneizel's fortress was the most powerful military fortress in the world.

Prince Schneizel thought that Nunally disapproving of Lelouch's ways would end the war between Lelouch and the new Britannian empire versus Prince Schneizel and the old Britannian empire. Lelouch originally thought Nunally died when Suzaku launched the F.L.E.I.J.A. at Tokyo. Lelouch knew that Schneizel was using her and declared that he was Nunally's enemy as well.

After Lelouch managed to enter the Damocles he created a video recording of himself for Schneizel. Schneizel thought it was live and began talking to the recording. Lelouch was able to predict what Schneizel was going to say which was why the recording was a success. Lelouch then snuck up behind him and used his geass on him. Schneizel was willing to do anything Lelouch asked for. Lelouch knew that if he had control of the F.L.E.I.J.A.'s he would win the war and ultimately the entire world. Nunally had control of the weapons.

When Lelouch came to get the remote for them, he was shocked to learn that Nunally was no longer blind.

When Lelouch gained control of the Damocles he became a harsh dictator that the whole world feared. Lelouch planned his own death. He told Suzaku that if he was able to help him defeat Prince Schneizel that he would let him kill him. Ever since Suzaku learned that Lelouch killed Princess Euphemia he wanted to kill him and agreed to his plan. Lelouch knew that if "Zero" came and killed him that the world would be a better place. With Zero killing the tyrannical Emperor Lelouch, hope would be restored to the world. Lelouch knew that Suzaku wanted a peaceful world as well and knew that he would rule the Britannian Empire well. Schneizel was no longer a threat since he was geassed to obey Zero. Lelouch knew that his ultimate goal for making the world a more peaceful place for his sister Nunally would happen if he died which concludes the anime "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion".
