14. Which member of the X-Men did Spider-Man team up with to save Beast from a deadly experiment that could destroy all mutants?
From Quiz Spider-Man: The Animated Series
Answer:
Wolverine
Spider-Man sought out Professor Charles Xavier in the hope of curing his growing mutancy disease. Unfortunately, Spidey got off on the wrong foot with the X-Men, by trying to sneak into the mansion.
Spider-Man eventually told Professor Xavier of his disease, but Xavier told Spider-Man that his work is to train mutants, not cure them. Spider-Man left, upset over not having found a cure, but Dr. Henry McCoy (Beast) caught up to the webhead, and told him about Dr. Herbert Landon, and his research.
After Spider-Man leaves, Beast is captured by men hired by Dr. Landon, who is working on an experiment to destroy all mutants (an experiment that was first started by Beast in order to stop his growing mutancy).
After Beast goes missing from the X-Mansion, a concerned Wolverine tracks him to the Brand Corporation, and battles Spider-Man, thinking that the webhead was the one who had Beast kidnapped. Spider-Man convinces Wolverine that he had nothing to do with Beast's kidnapping, and informs him of Dr. Landon's plan, which Spider-Man learned from the Hobgoblin.
Spider-Man ended up saving both Beast and Wolverine from a vat full of a chemical that would've caused their mutant cells to self-destruct, but after a blackmail attempt by the Hobgoblin, Dr. Landon fell into the vat, and the chemical caused him to mutate into a giant monster, who ended up escaping the lab, and causes a panic in New York.
But, with the combined efforts of both Spider-Man, and the X-Men, Dr. Landon was returned to normal (except for his face) and Genevieve (Dr. Landon's assistant) was revealed to be a telekinetic mutant (who, during an attack by the Hobgoblin during a presentation, saved Spider-Man by using her powers to hold up a collapsing ceiling).
