Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which actor provided the voice of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in "Spider-Man: The Animated Series"?

Answer: Christopher Daniel Barnes

Now, all of these actors voiced different incarnations of Spider-Man on TV throughout the years: Dan Gilvezan-"Spider-Man And His Amazing Friends", Neil Patrick Harris-"Spider-Man: The New Animated Series" on MTV, and Josh Keaton-"Spectacular Spider-Man". All of these actors voiced different variations of Spider-Man in the video game "Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions", including Christopher Daniel Barnes, who played the voice of Spider-Man Noir.

Christopher Daniel Barnes has also been featured on the UPN show "Malcolm and Eddie", and is best known as Greg Brady in both "The Brady Bunch Movie" and "A Very Brady Sequel".
2. In the very first episode, which villain did Spider-Man face off against?

Answer: The Lizard

Dr. Curt Connors was a scientist who injected himself with reptile DNA in order to manipulate reptiles ability to grow lost limbs, since he lost his right arm while serving in the army. After injecting himself with reptile DNA, his right arm grew back, but there was a catch: the reptile DNA caused him to transform into a super-powerful, extremely dangerous, half man, half reptile called The Lizard.
3. What was the notorious name that Wilson Fisk called himself?

Answer: The Kingpin

Wilson Fisk, aka The Kingpin, was a criminal mastermind who controlled most of New York's criminal element, often aligning himself with supercriminals such as Rhino, the Hobgoblin, and Dr. Octopus.

The voice of Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin was provided by none other than veteran actor Roscoe Lee Browne, who also made appearances on TV shows such as "The Cosby Show", "A Different World", "227", "Sanford & Son", and "Good Times". Browne was also featured in movies, such as "Black Like Me" and "Uptown Saturday Night". Sadly, Roscoe Lee Browne passed away in April of 2007.
4. Which of these heroes did Spider-Man NOT bring to help him in the Secret Wars?

Answer: Doctor Strange

As a test of which would prevail, good or evil, the Beyonder sent The Lizard, Alistar Smythe, Doctor Octopus, The Red Skull, and Dr. Doom to a paradise planet, and in the course of a year, they managed to take over the planet.

The Beyonder sent Spider-Man to the planet, and instructed him to assemble a team of heroes to save it. The team that Spider-Man assembled was: The Fantastic Four, Iron-Man, Captain America, Storm (of the X-Men), and later, Black Cat. During the first battle, Spider-Man saved the Lizard, and his team from a horde of gigantic, rampaging worms, and restored Dr. Curt Connors' human conscious, making the Lizard an ally against the supervillains.

Dr. Strange teamed up with the webhead in another episode, where they had to save a brainwashed Mary Jane from the clutches of the evil Baron Mordo.
5. Which member of the X-Men did Spider-Man team up with to save Beast from a deadly experiment that could destroy all mutants?

Answer: Wolverine

Spider-Man sought out Professor Charles Xavier in the hope of curing his growing mutancy disease. Unfortunately, Spidey got off on the wrong foot with the X-Men, by trying to sneak into the mansion.

Spider-Man eventually told Professor Xavier of his disease, but Xavier told Spider-Man that his work is to train mutants, not cure them. Spider-Man left, upset over not having found a cure, but Dr. Henry McCoy (Beast) caught up to the webhead, and told him about Dr. Herbert Landon, and his research.

After Spider-Man leaves, Beast is captured by men hired by Dr. Landon, who is working on an experiment to destroy all mutants (an experiment that was first started by Beast in order to stop his growing mutancy).

After Beast goes missing from the X-Mansion, a concerned Wolverine tracks him to the Brand Corporation, and battles Spider-Man, thinking that the webhead was the one who had Beast kidnapped. Spider-Man convinces Wolverine that he had nothing to do with Beast's kidnapping, and informs him of Dr. Landon's plan, which Spider-Man learned from the Hobgoblin.

Spider-Man ended up saving both Beast and Wolverine from a vat full of a chemical that would've caused their mutant cells to self-destruct, but after a blackmail attempt by the Hobgoblin, Dr. Landon fell into the vat, and the chemical caused him to mutate into a giant monster, who ended up escaping the lab, and causes a panic in New York.

But, with the combined efforts of both Spider-Man, and the X-Men, Dr. Landon was returned to normal (except for his face) and Genevieve (Dr. Landon's assistant) was revealed to be a telekinetic mutant (who, during an attack by the Hobgoblin during a presentation, saved Spider-Man by using her powers to hold up a collapsing ceiling).
6. After his adventure with the X-Men, who did Spider-Man seek out in order to cure his growing mutancy?

Answer: Dr. Mariah Crawford

Dr. Mariah Crawford was able to create a serum, but when Spider-Man took the serum, instead of curing him, it accelerated his mutancy, causing him to grow two more arms. During this time, Spider-Man was implicated in the disappearance of Michael Morbius, and was hunted by both the police, and Frank Castle, a Vietnam vet, and self-styled vigilante better known as-The Punisher.

While Spider-Man was searching for Michael Morbius, The Punisher managed to corner the webhead in an abandoned building. Spider-Man's disease caused him to transform into Man-Spider.

With the help of her lover Kraven The Hunter, and after convincing the Punisher of Spider-Man's innocence, and that because of his disease, Spider-Man is a victim, just like the Punisher's wife and children (who were killed in a drive-by shooting), Dr. Crawford injected Man-Spider with the antidote, and restored Spider-Man back to normal.

The voice of Dr. Mariah Crawford was provided by actress Susan Beaubian, who portrayed Lisa Turtle's mother on the NBC teen series "Saved By The Bell".
7. Which superhero did NYPD Detective Terri Lee end up falling in love with?

Answer: Blade

Detective Terri Lee met Blade during the "Neogenic Nightmare" episodes where Blade teamed up with Spider-Man in order to capture Morbius, who had become a vampire due to exposure to the Neogenic Recombinator. These episodes also marked the very first cartoon appearance of the Daywalker. Of course, Blade (being the loner type hero that he is), wouldn't allow himself to let certain feelings like love to get in the way of his mission.

The voice of Blade was provided by actor J.D. Hall who has made appearances on TV shows such as "Moesha" and "Living Single", and in movies such as "Undercover Brother" and "The Fabulous Baker Boys".

Detective Teri Lee's voice was provided by actress Dawnn Lewis who's best known for her role as Jaleesa Vinson-Taylor on the NBC sitcom "A Different World" and for her role as Robin Dumars on the ABC sitcom "Hangin' With Mr. Cooper".
8. When Peter Parker was put on trial after being framed by Richard Fisk, which lawyer represented Peter in court?

Answer: Matt Murdock

The Kingpin hired Peter Parker as repayment for saving him from the Hobgoblin. Of course, when he quit the Daily Bugle, J. Jonah Jameson wasn't too happy about it.

Jameson didn't want Peter to know that he actually liked him, but when Peter was being framed, and needed a lawyer, Jameson hired Matt Murdock. Murdock worked as a lawyer by day, but because of toxic materials that spilled into his eyes (heightening his other senses, and giving him a "radar" sense), and after training with a mysterious man named Stick, he became the vigilante known as Daredevil.

Daredevil revealed to Spider-Man that the criminal mastermind behind Peter being framed, and behind crime in New York, was Wilson Fisk, a.k.a The Kingpin. The two heroes worked together to clear Peter Parker's name.
9. In which part of New York did Peter Parker live?

Answer: Queens

Mostly, he lived with his aunt, May Parker, but during the series, he moved in with his best friend, Harry Osborn, who became the second Green Goblin. The first Green Goblin, of course, was his father, Norman Osborn.
10. In the final episode of "Spider-Man: The Animated Series", Spider-Man led a group of Spider-Men from other realities to stop Spider-Carnage from destroying all reality. Who helped Spider-Man show Spider-Carnage the error of his ways?

Answer: Uncle Ben

Spider-Man was sent to the reality of the Armoured Spider-Man, who was a billionaire. In this reality, Ben Parker was still alive, whereas in Spider-Man's reality, he was killed by the very same man that Peter didn't stop, leading him to become a superhero rather than a celebrity.

Spider-Carnage was a clone of Peter Parker who was driven insane by bonding with a Carnage symbiote. In the end, Ben Parker reminded Spider-Carnage of the credo of Spider-Man: "With great power, there must also come great responsibility".
