Answer: The Alien Costume: Part Two

In season 1's "The Alien Costume: Part Two", Spider-Man came to Dr. Conners in order to investigate the properties of his new black suit. Conners would later return as the Lizard in the episode "Tablet of Time" in season 2, and from then on, his role as the Lizard would be recurring while at other times, he continued to be a supporting character.

His final appearance in the series would be as the Lizard in the episode "Doom" as one of Spider-Man's allies rather than one of his enemies, merging the two personalities of the Lizard and Conners together.

As revealed in season 1's "The Sting of the Scorpion", Jameson hates all masked vigilantes, such as Spider-Man, because his wife was gunned down by a masked man, who had been hired by a crime boss who Jameson was reporting about in his earlier years. It would be this motivation for Jameson that convinced him to go against Spider-Man by hiring Mac Garkin to become the Scorpion so that Garkin could finally defeat Spider-Man.

Although that plan backfired when the Scorpion went insane, and Jameson saw the error of what he created, he still holds a grudge against Spider-Man even after he stopped the Scorpion.

In season 1's "The Spider Slayer", Felicia decided to dance with Peter rather than Flash Thompson, and it came to a kiss. However, when the Spider Slayer attacked the party searching for Spider-Man, Peter inadvertently made himself look like a coward by running away from the chaos when he really went to change into his Spider-Man costume in private.

Although Felicia berated Peter for this supposed action, that wouldn't really affect the relationship she already had with him.

In Mary Jane's first appearance in the series, season 1's "The Return of the Spider Slayers", at the very end of the episode, Peter opened the door to his house and saw Mary Jane standing there as she said, "Face it, tiger. In fact, in nearly every incarnation of Mary Jane, she has always said this line to Peter when they first met, with the exception of her adaptation in the Sam Raimi films and in the 2003 animated series.

In season 1's "The Alien Costume: Part One", the Rhino made his debut when the Kingpin hired him to collect the Promethieum X from John Jameson's crashed space shuttle on the George Washington Bridge. While there, he briefly confronted Spider-Man and made it out, successfully delivering the Promethiuem X to the Kingpin.

At the end of the episode, a black-suited Spider-Man almost killed the Rhino when they met again in combat.

Throughout the entire series' run, Zimbalist Jr. sported a thick Germanic accent which is most likely stereotypically linked to Dr. Octopus's background in science, in the same vein as Albert Einstein or any number of German scientists. Around the same time, Zimbalist Jr. had voiced Alfred Pennyworth in the popular 1990s "Batman" TV show. Zimbalist Jr. would later reprise his role as Dr. Octopus in the 2000 "Spider-Man" game.

Beast's role in this crossover provided the back story to Dr. Landon's work in creating a chemical designed to kill mutants. Wolverine's involvement was in teaming up with Spider-Man to save Beast and foil Landon's plans. The other X-Men were given nothing more than supporting roles that could be said to be glorified cameos.

In Whistler's first two appearances in the show, in season 2's "Blade the Vampire Hunter" and "The Immortal Vampire", he was voiced by famed British actor Malcolm McDowell, best known for his role as Alex DeLarge in the Stanley Kubrick classic, "A Clockwork Orange".

In Whistler's later appearances in season 4's "The Awakening" and "The Vampire Queen", McDowell had been replaced by voice actor Oliver Muirhead. Muirhead had previously voiced the Spot in the season 3 episode aptly titled "The Spot".

Baron Mordo had pretended to be Mary Jane Watson's father in his successful attempt to have her join his cult in the purpose of freeing the Dread Dormammu into the mortal realm. This final scene of the season 2 finale had set up the plot for the Season 3 premiere of "Doctor Strange" where this would all be resolved.

However, Mordo would try again to free Dormammu with the help of Venom and Carnage in "Venom Returns" and "Carnage".

Season 3's "Enter the Green Goblin" was the culmination of Norman Osborn's arc from his development as a character in his previous appearances. Interestingly enough, he was introduced after the Hobgoblin made his own debut into the series, whereas it was the other way around in the comics.

The Green Goblin's later appearances in this season would lead up to a very famous homage to a particular Spider-Man storyline in the comics.

In season 3's finale, "Turning Point", the Green Goblin figured out that Spider-Man was Peter Parker and decided to use this knowledge to kidnap Mary Jane and lead Spider-Man in a final showdown at the George Washington Bridge. During the ensuing confrontation, Mary Jane fell into a portal created by the Time Dilation Accelerator while no one was looking, and Spider-Man, believing MJ to have been lost at worst, attacks the Green Goblin in a rage.

The resulting climax of the fight had the Goblin pushed into one of his portals by his own glider, thus ensuring the pseudo-deaths of MJ and the Goblin in a slight homage to "The Night Gwen Stacy Died".
