Becca and Vernon go for couples' counselling as they are having problems. They try to make sense of the source of their issues and the counselor suggests that it is the external influence that may be spoiling their relationship. Becca then decides to tell Jimmy and Gretchen that they will be cutting them off from their lives. She is shown to expect more of a reaction from the two but they just say okay and discuss about other things. Since Vernon said that he will pay for the food that they were eating, Jimmy and Gretchen order a lot of food and some t-shirts, including one for the kid, Kilian.

Edgar then tells him that it's great that Gretchen is happy with what Jimmy is giving her and not wanting more like other girls.

A band called Zig-Zags then starts playing their music which draws the crowd's attention much to Edgar's dismay.

A man - who later in the show is revealed to be an actor - poses as a war veteran and takes a seat next to Edgar. He tells Edgar that he empathizes with the situation of veterans and then goes on to try to light a cigarette. He is not able to do it as he has only one hand and suggests that he lost the other in the field. Failing to light his cigarette, he resigns to the fact that he has to learn to live with one hand for the rest of his life. He invites Edgar to meet his troop mates saying that they'd love to hear his stories, which Edgar agrees to do.

They then talk about the new woman in his life and the manager asks Jimmy what is wrong with this woman who is with him. She then tells the receptionist to throw him out the next time he comes around. Jimmy then walks out of the library leaving Killian behind.

Killian Mounce is a kid who moves into a house next to Jimmy's. When Jimmy goes out to get his mail, Killian walks up to him and asks him if he wants to hang out. Jimmy then tells Killian to come over around eight o'clock. In the first season, Killian is played by Shane Francis Smith.

He is rejected as he seemed to be too interested in showing Gretchen his furniture that he has made. The second guy turns out to be an actor. The third guy is rejected as was more interested in the match that was running in the background than listening to Gretchen. The fourth and final guy just moved from Ohio in his family minivan.

As it was Edgar's turn to pick the agenda for Sunday Funday, he chose an obscure record store as the first stop. In the record store, they see another gang of people at the store who they saw at the restaurant earlier. Edgar suspects that one member of the gang may have copied the items on his list and that is why they are there. While at the store, Jimmy tries to distract Gretchen from texting by telling her that he will buy her a record. She chooses a record by the band Genesis. Jimmy then asks her if she was a fan of Phil Collins or Peter Gabriel. Gretchen says she likes them both and that both of them are good.

While waiting at the restaurant for their reservation, Jimmy brings over some drinks for himself and Gretchen. They then try to strike up a conversation but are visibly uncomfortable until they both have a synchronized outburst at two people who walk in between them, nudging them both. A bearer then leads them to the table which turns out to be a communal one to which Jimmy makes a fuss. They sit at the table and a staff member comes over and explains to them the concept of the restaurant.

The priest dials someone over the telephone and tells them that they may have another Snowden on their hands.

After the record store, the gang is shown getting a massage in a park. They are all on massage chairs getting massages simultaneously. Jimmy argues with Gretchen about the question he asked her earlier asking her to make a choice between Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins as he believes they are, in his words, 'diametrically opposite'. Edgar then reminds everyone of the time when Phil Collins supposedly drowned a guy and Jimmy refutes him saying that it has been disproven so many times. Gretchen is annoyed with Jimmy and takes a sip from her hip flask while getting the massage.
