Which of the following is not a maneuver you can get your squad to perform?

From Quiz "More Mixed "Republic Commando""

Republic Commando Trivia Questions

1. Where do you fight your first Trendosian Heavy Mercenary?

From Quiz
Locations of "Republic Commando"

Answer: Assault Ship

You have to face your first Heavy Mercenary on your own while the rest of your squad is scattered throughout the ship. You can take a lot of damage and you can tear through shields and whittle down your health faster than most enemy units. The only unit that deals more damage per second than the Heavy Mercenary is the Geonosian Elite, but Elites have poor aim, and don't maintain a steady stream of fire like the Heavy Mercenary. You'll have to use a lot of heavy weapons and grenades to bring these guys down before they incapacitate your entire squad.

2. What is Scorch's colour?

From Quiz Mixed "Republic Commando"

Answer: Yellow

Each of your Squad members has a certain colour. Scorch is yellow, Sev is red, and Fixer is green. Scorch seems to have a crazed sense of battle humor. Even at the most perilous times, Scorch seems to have something witty to say. He seems to be constantly arguing with Sev over pointless matters. Scorch's favorite weapon is the DC-17 Anti-Armor Attachment.

3. When you get aboard the Core ship in the Geonosis campaign (Infiltration of the Core Ship), what is your first objective?

From Quiz "Republic Commando" Campaign

Answer: Sabotage the droid rack controls

All members of your squad have a different objective when you first get on the Separatists core ship. This means you don't get any squad mates for the first part of this mission. Your objective is to sabotage the droid racks. Basically this means wandering through the level until you come across the right consol. Hack into it, and the droid racks will explode. Wander through a bit more to end the first leg of your journey. Throughout the first part of the mission, your enemies are SBD's. Most are deactivated in their racks, but the damage from the battle has awoken some of them. If they receive any damage they'll wake up. Watch you shoot accurately with assault weapons, make sure you don't shoot through the activated droid and hit a sleeping one, and don't catch them in the splash damage of your grenades, or anti armor rounds. Normally, you'll come across one that's walking towards you. I say wait until he's far enough away from his sleeping brothers, and then use an anti armor to take him out in one hit (you'll find extra rounds lying about, so don't be shy). If you do happen to wake them all up, my strategy is to lobe two EMP grenades into the bunch (that should either knock them down, or bring their health down far enough to finish them off with your assault attachment.

4. This is the first weapon you pick up on Geonosis and you use it to destroy a gun emplacement. It's most famous appearance was in "Return of the Jedi" when a disguised Leia used it in her "negotiations" with Jabba the Hutt. What is this weapon?

From Quiz "Republic Commando" Weapons

Answer: Thermal Detonator

Thermal detonators are also used in games such as Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series. One noticeable difference between how their used in "Republic Commando" and the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series is that the latter tends to give two modes to the thermal detonator depending on the control the player uses when throwing it. One control button results in explosion on impact, a second is a delayed explosion.

5. Where do you first meet the Wookiees?

From Quiz Locations of "Republic Commando"

Answer: Kashyyyk

Kashyyyk is the Wookiees' home planet. When you have one in the area, you'll notice how nice they are when they literally pick up and smash around or throw enemies. They can however be killed easily if you're not covering them while they're in the middle of beating up a droid or something.

6. What is the name of your squad?

From Quiz More Mixed "Republic Commando"

Answer: Delta Squad

There are actually many "Delta Squads," each composed of a quartet of commandos. You play as Delta 38, so you are known as part of "Delta 38's squad."

7. What is the pistol called?

From Quiz Mixed "Republic Commando"

Answer: DC-15

The DC-15 was the "parent" weapon of the DC-17. The makers of the DC-17 used the DC-15's adaptable model as the base when making the more advanced weapon. Unlike the more powerful DC-17 attachments, the DC-15 is weak and slow, but it doesn't run out of ammo.

8. When you open the door to torpedo bay at the beginning of the Assault Ship campaign, what comes out?

From Quiz "Republic Commando" Campaign

Answer: Mynocks

This mission has the same idea as the core ship in the level just before this one. Each member has his own task, and you don't get any buddies when you start off. When you land on the RAS Prosecutor, you enter through the launch tube. You hack open the door to the torpedo bay in a small room off to the side. When it opens, a few mynocks will fly out. You can try hitting them for target practice; don't worry about ammo, as there's a case just up the ramp in the next room.

9. This weapon is individually crafted and no two are exactly alike. It's appearance resembles a real world crossbow, though it certainly doesn't fire the same kind of ammo. What is it?

From Quiz "Republic Commando" Weapons

Answer: Bowcaster

Though the Wookiee bowcaster looks primitive in comparison to most "modern" Star Wars weapons, it actually is rather high-tech and on par with blasters. It made an appearance in four of the movies, numerous games, and several books and comics. In "Republic Commando" the bowcaster provides you with a second sniper weapon, great for when you run out of ammo in the sniper attachment. Too bad it eats up ammo at a pretty high rate.

10. How many rounds can you hold for the DC-17 Blaster Attachment at one time?

From Quiz More Mixed "Republic Commando"

Answer: 300

Most weapons have a number on them showing you how much ammo you have for that weapon. The number of rounds left in a certain clip is shown on an illuminated counter normally shown as a bunch of bars. You can hold 300 rounds for the DC-17 Blaster Attachment. Each clip holds 60 rounds.

11. On the Assault Ship, in the first part of the first mission, you meet a clone trooper who was hiding in the torpedo bay. What happens to him?

From Quiz "Republic Commando" Campaign

Answer: He gets killed by a Scarab

When you meet the clone trooper, he's off by a consol, on the other side of the glass. He doesn't seem sure of his answers when 38 questions him on the events that took place on the derelict ship. He apparently tried to launch a torpedo to alert the Republic. He opens a door for you to proceed, but is then attacked from behind by a scarab droid. This tips off 38 as to what happened to Scorch, and what to look out for.

12. Which campaign can you NOT find Trendosians in?

From Quiz Locations of "Republic Commando"

Answer: Geonosis

You first see Trendosians on the Assault Ship, and they're the only things you fight until the last mission on the Assault Ship, at which point they get droid reinforcements. Trendosians are really nasty. The Slavers enjoy bursting out of piles of debris and rolling out of corners right in front of you to hit you with their ACP Array Guns (Shotguns). If they take any damage, they'll go into berserker mode and take out their long knives and run up to you to hack away. They can run and attack really fast, so try to take them out before they get close. The Mercenaries are also dangerous, as they enjoy blowing holes in walls and ceilings to drop in on you from unexpected places. If you hear their weapons firing, look in all directions, as they may be behind you.

13. Which Trendosians use Shotguns?

From Quiz More Mixed "Republic Commando"

Answer: Slavers

Slavers are the first kind of Trendosian you'll meet in the campaign. If you shoot them but they don't go down, they may drop their weapon, pull out a pair of knives, and run for you to carve your pelt. They can be easy if at long range, because they'll try using their shotguns still. If you can drop them one at a time before they get to you, most of their shots shouldn't hit you. A real pain is when you have five or so running at you. It's hard to drop all of them with a blaster, so try using the Anti-Armor Attachment or a grenade.

14. What is Fixer's number?

From Quiz Mixed "Republic Commando"

Answer: 40

Like with the colours, each squad member has a number. Fixer is 40, Sev is 07, and Scorch is 62. Fixer prefers to call everyone by their number instead of the nicknames. He's the squad's tech and slicer. Fixer's preferred weapon is the Katarn-Armor Gauntlet Vibroblade (the melee weapon).

15. On the Assault ship, who is the last squad mate you find?

From Quiz "Republic Commando" Campaign

Answer: Scorch

The first squad mate you see on the assault ship is Sev, although he's in a different room, and is attacked by a scarab droid. The next one you meet up with is Fixer after you've hacked the flight logs and made your way through the ship. The two of you make your way to a large room with an unconscious Sev. When you revive him, a heavy mercenary will attack you. Scorch is the last man you meet up with, who is in the Detention center. Find his cell, and revive him. Once you have your entire squad back, it's time to take the fight to the bad guys.

16. What is the first secondary weapon you can pick up in the game?

From Quiz "Republic Commando" Weapons

Answer: Geonosian Elite Beam Weapon

I did say that you can pick up, not the first secondary weapon you're equipped with. The DC-15s is actually the first secondary weapon in your inventory, but you start off with it as soon as you land on Geonosis. ACP Repeaters don't appear until you have Trandoshans to deal with. And thermal detonators are an explosive weapon, not a secondary weapon. Thus the Geonosian elite beam weapon is the first secondary weapon you can pick up. Of all the secondary weapons, the beam weapon is perhaps the most unique. Rather than firing individual rounds at a target, it fires a constant stream of energy for as long as you keep the fire button depressed. It also has a set of "fingers" that make an annoying clacking sound when you've got it out and are not firing.

17. What is the name of the Assault Ship the Trendosians had hijacked?

From Quiz More Mixed "Republic Commando"

Answer: Prosecutor

The Prosecutor, an Acclamator class Assault Ship, was Delta Squad's first home. It was hijacked by Trendosians, who were in turn going to trade it over to the Separatists in exchange for droids. It was supposed to be in the Corellian System monitoring the trade route when it disappeared. Two weeks later, it was seen again in the Chaykin Cluster (long ways away from Corellia). On the 367th day of the Clone Wars, Delta Squad was sent to investigate.

18. Which type of Trendoshans carry the ACP Repeater?

From Quiz Mixed "Republic Commando"

Answer: Mercenaries

The Accelerated Charged Particle Repeater Gun isn't really much of a threat. Normally you can run into a swarm of Trendoshan Mercenaries with these weapons and come out alive. It's not like the Heavy Repeater that you really want to watch out for. The ACP Repeater is the Trendoshan equivalent of the Republic's DC-17 Blaster Attachment, and in multiplayer, when playing as a Trendoshan, you'll start off with this weapon.

19. At the end of the Assault Ship campaign you have to activate the Prosecutor's turbo lasers. How many consoles do you have to slice in order to do this?

From Quiz "Republic Commando" Campaign

Answer: Three

There are three consoles that need to be hacked to end the Assault Ship campaign, each one taking over a minute at least (longer, depending on the difficulty setting). Assign one squad member to each console and have them start hacking. Droids will start to stream in from left right and center from behind you. Take one squad member off and get him to help you fend off the droids. If one gets hurt too badly, switch him off with someone slicing the lasers. There are grenade, anti armor, sniper, and blaster refills lying around, but only one of each, so try to use all your ammo before picking one up. Before you know it, the lasers will start firing, and the droids will deactivate.

20. What unique feature does the DC-15s Side Arm Blaster have that no other weapon in the game has?

From Quiz "Republic Commando" Weapons

Answer: Infinite ammo

After the knuckle plate vibro blade, the DC-15s is the best choice for saving ammo due to it's self-charging dynamic energy cell. This gives it an infinite ammo capacity, but it does have a significant drawback that places it after the knuckle plate vibro blade in terms of ammo conservation. And that's the recharge rate on it's energy cell. If you empty it's "clip" too fast, it's going to take a little bit to recharge to full count. Though if you don't mind a slightly slower rate of fire, you can keep firing it as it is recharging.

21. Where do you get your first Wookiee Rocket Launcher?

From Quiz Locations of "Republic Commando"

Answer: Kashyyyk

The Wookiee Rocket Launcher is quite possibly the most powerful weapon in the game (aside from turrets). You only get these on Kashyyyk, unfortunately. They're really nice against armored units such as Spider Droids and entire groups of Super Battle Droids.

22. Which enemy can continue fighting after it has been shot down?

From Quiz More Mixed "Republic Commando"

Answer: Super Battle Droids

Sometimes a super battle droid will fall down and then try to perch itself on its arm and try to shoot you. Once on the ground, however, they're easy to take out. They're hardest when still standing.

23. What kind of weapon do the Geonosian Elites use?

From Quiz Mixed "Republic Commando"

Answer: Beam

The Baby Geonosians crawl around on all fours, trying to bite at your heels. The Warriors can fly in from above, climb up to you from a cliff, and hide pretty much anywhere. When you find them, you can take them out easily, but once you have there's already another running at you that you never saw arrive. The Warriors only use staves, so if you can take them out before they get to you, they shouldn't be a problem.

24. Excluding Kamino, how many planets do you get to see in "Star Wars Republic Commando"?

From Quiz More Mixed "Republic Commando"

Answer: Two

The two planets are Geonosis and Kashyyyk. Geonosis has five levels, and Kashyyyk has six. The campaign starts off on Geonosis which, coincidentally, is The Battle of Geonosis. Then it moves onto the Assault Ship, which the Trendosians hijacked. Finally, everything wraps itself up on Kashyyyk with the Trendosians working with the Separatists, and even the Geonosians decided to come all the way through space just to make things more difficult for you.

25. How many rounds can the Wookiee Homing Rocket Launcher hold?

From Quiz Mixed "Republic Commando"

Answer: Five

The Wookiee Rocket Launcher fires round that do lots of damage and have a large blast radius. If you see an enemy, you can lock onto them by holding down the fire button with the crosshairs over them. If you have a lock, make sure the enemy you've locked onto isn't behind an object because the rockets aren't smart enough to go around it; they'll go in a straight line toward it's target. The only time the homing rockets are good is when the target is moving. The rocket will veer off and circle around until it hits something, whether it be the target or an obstacle/wall.

26. What is the name of the city you help defend in the Kashyyyk campaign?

From Quiz "Republic Commando" Campaign

Answer: Kachirho

Kachirho is a major Wookiee city on Kashyyyk. It spans multiple massive worshyr trees. You make their way through the city, touring market complexes, fuel stations, hangars, etc. Most of it is lying in ruin when you travel through it due to either damage from battles in the various areas, or because the Wookiees were boarding up holes to seal enemy movements. You'll see lots of Wookiees, both live ones that help you fight, and dead ones that provide cover. The other three answers mentioned are small villages from "Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds".

27. This massive hand weapon can be dumb-fired or locked on for more of a homing projectile. It is the only way to take out the Kachirho bridge. What is it?

From Quiz "Republic Commando" Weapons

Answer: Wookiee Guided Rocket Launcher

The Wookiee guided rocket launcher is perhaps the biggest, most powerful hand weapon in the game. In fact the character you play (RC-1138/Boss) makes a comment on it being nearly his size. By simply pulling the trigger you let a rocket fly in dumb-fire mode. Or hold the trigger a little longer to lock on to your target and the rocket will home in your target.

28. When on the Assault Ship, who is the first squad member you meet back up with?

From Quiz More Mixed "Republic Commando"

Answer: 40, Fixer

At the beginning of the Assault Ship campaign, Delta Squad decides to split up to cover more ground faster. They don't know at the beginning, but they soon find the new occupants: Trendosians. Sev and Scorch are both incapacitated, leaving only you and Fixer to find them and revive them. After meeting up with Fixer, you find Sev where the Trendosians were interrogating him, and after, you find Scorch a cell. Once revived, however, they are faced with a real challenge. Destroying the Trendosian landing craft as well as the Separatists' Droid Control Ship.

29. How many different mechanized enemies are there?

From Quiz Mixed "Republic Commando"

Answer: Six

Battle Droids, Super Battle Droids, Droideka, Advanced Dwarf Spider Droid, Scavenger Droids, and Magna Guards. Battle Droids are weaklings that can be taken out with minimum shots. To use even a sniper round on one of them would be a waste. The Super Battle Droids have got to be the most annoying units in the game. Sure, some units have more firepower or shielding/health, but these guys are a nasty combo of both. They can move, they can take many hits, and they can dish out a beating. They're especially annoying when they come from a dispenser because new fresh droids will constantly come out to aid their damaged comrades. You want to destroy Super Battle Droid dispensers before anything else. Droideka can be annoying in numbers, but when you only have to worry about one (everything else being taken care of by your squad) they're easy. Run up to them and just melee until they're down. They can't hit you at point blank range. Advanced Dwarf Spider Droids are annoying. They have a variety of attacks, but they're used in slow succession. Basically, just load them full of blaster bolts until they're down. Their attacks are easy to dodge, but your weapons don't seem to do much back (i.e. Anti-Armor, Grenades). Your best bet is probably just being patient and using your DC-17 Blaster. Scavenger Droids are first seen on the Assault Ship. They hide on walls and other places where you can't see them. They come into your area and shock you with electricity, eating away at your shield. If you get too close to one it will latch onto your face and try to drill into your visor. This might actually be an easier way to defeat them because every attack will hit (when on your visor, your attacks will be melees at the droid). The final unit is the Magna Guards. Magna Guards jump all over the place, wielding their staves. They seem to jump around more than actually attack. They do fire stun missiles, but they don't do any actual damage. Basically, keep your distance and you'll be fine (you can run backwards just as fast as they run forward, so you can just run away from them, facing them, unloading into them, and they'll never be able to hit you). Same idea, though, with the Spider Droid: use your assault weapons.

30. Why does Delta Squad have to destroy the bridge in the Kashyyyk campaign?

From Quiz "Republic Commando" Campaign

Answer: To cut off the Seperatists main rout into the city.

The bridge is a linchpin between two trees, with a small narrow part in the middle. The Wookiees hold one side and the separatists hold the other. There was already an advanced scouting party on the republic side when Delta squad arrived. To prevent the main bulk of the Sep forces from assault the Wookiee tree, Delta is tasked with destroying the center span. The charge misfires and the squad has to find another way to destroy the bridge. The advisor tells them about a lookout point of the Sep side of the bridge, from where they can see a fuel line. Delta is tasked, then, with finding a rocket launcher and detonating the fuel line. Delta is then trapped on the Separatist side of the tree.
