"Five Nights at Freddy's" was created when Scott Cawthon, a Christian themed media developer, was criticized for one of the characters in his game, "Chipper and Son Lumber Co." Critics found the main character frightening and compared it to an animatronic critter. Cawthon responded by creating a game about animatronics that was as terrifying as possible. The first character he created was Bonnie. It was so scary it even gave the creator nightmares.

Due to her unique assembly, Mangle has both a white and pink head much like Foxy's and an additional head with no covering coming from her neck. Nightmare Freddy has several smaller versions of himself attached to his torso. These will appear on the bed and must be removed by shining the flashlight on them, or Nightmare Freddy himself will attack. Springtrap is a unique animatronic in that he is made to function as both an independent machine and a suit. As a result, he has both his own animatronic head and the head of the man inside the suit.

With each passing night, there is a chance that a poster in the west hall will have a picture of a golden version of Freddy Fazbear on the wall. If this happens, the player will hear high pitched laughter, and see a golden version of Freddy sitting right in front of Mike, posed as if dead. The player must act quickly and raise the view-screen, and it will disappear. If they do not do so in time, not only will they fail the night, but the entire game will crash.

That's about as close to family as Lizzie is going to have.
