In game, you must survive for a total of six hours. In real world time, this is about 12 minutes. However, with 1% power draining every 9 and a half seconds when using absolutely nothing, it is much more challenging than it seems.

Answer: It prevents their servos from locking up

The animatronics used to be allowed to roam free even during daytime hours, however a terrible accident provoked the employees into only allowing them to wander at night. It would seem that not only the active animatronics can roam freely, but even the disembodied heads are able to shift about.

Answer: A desk fan

The guard's office is the only place that Mike is able to stand in for the entire game, watching the rest of the pizzeria with the security cameras. Interestingly, the fan cannot be turned off, and so constantly drains power.

Answer: The kitchen

Despite never being seen, sounds of clanking pots and pans can be heard from the kitchen when an animatronic enters. The developer stated that he did not design the kitchen as he wants the player to imagine what it would be like.

Answer: A cupcake

Of all the instruments in the world, Chica chooses.... a cupcake. As it would happen, she is not actually a musician, but she is the backup dancer of the band. Interestingly, she is also the only animatronic with a female characterization.

Answer: It is checked too little or too much

On the second night, Mike receives a phone call in which he is told that Foxy will only come out if not monitored enough. However, it does not say that Foxy also reacts if checked on too much. Unlike most areas, the camera at Pirate Cove can never be disabled, most likely as it would interfere with the gimmick of Foxy's mechanics.

Answer: Raise your camera view-screen and forget it ever happened!

With each passing night, there is a chance that a poster in the west hall will have a picture of a golden version of Freddy Fazbear on the wall. If this happens, the player will hear high pitched laughter, and see a golden version of Freddy sitting right in front of Mike, posed as if dead.

The player must act quickly and raise the view-screen, and it will disappear. If they do not do so in time, not only will they fail the night, but the entire game will crash.

Answer: Odor

Upon completing the 7th night, Mike receives a notice of termination for the reasons above. It seems to be implied that "odor" refers to the fact that Mike may have uncontrollably soiled himself from fear.

Answer: 50 cents

"Congratulations, champ! You've earned some overtime!" says the paycheck received after completing the sixth night. This makes for a grand total of $120.50 USD, hardly an adequate pay for a job so dangerous.

Answer: Schmidt

Though his name is never spoken, it is revealed that the protagonist's name is Mike Schmidt, as shown on the paycheck received after completing the fifth and sixth night. Interestingly, within the coding of the game, his name is not mentioned in any way.
