1. In "Unravel", the playable character is made from an unusual substance. What is it?

The character is called "Yarny", and is made up of yarn, primarily red yarn with white yarn for eyes. As Yarny moves across levels, he leaves a strand of yarn behind. Part of the challenge in the game is finding a path that leaves enough yarn to get to the next spool of yarn. While on a trip, game creator Martin Sahlin borrowed yarn from "some punkrock kid" (according to the credits) to create an early version of Yarny.

The Laputa is an alien spacecraft which will ferry you over the globe. From this spacecraft you will launch a landing pod to the ground, loaded with your troops, in order to carry out special operations. The Laputa can only launch the pod to a specific radius around it, so you must constantly move the Laputa over the world map to reach hotspots of activity.

Kid Muscle is the son of King Muscle, ruler of Muscle planet. Kid Muscle's special millennium move has him throwing himself at the opponent after he hurls him in the air. They go across the ring and the opponent ends up with the top rope around his neck and the middle rope around his knees.

While none of the characters speak and the story is told through images, there are written words on signs, newspaper headlines, and most noticeably on the embroidered pillow on the starting screen. The words on this pillow are "lycka blommar ur sma enkla ting" which translates from Swedish as "happiness blooms from the small things". The game was made by Coldwood, which is located in Sweden. Martin Sahlin, the creator behind the game, was inspired by a trip in the forests of northern Sweden when making the game.

Much like in other "X-Com"/"UFO" games, the Little Grey Men are the "base" enemy units. They'll be the most common enemies during the beginning of the game, but you'll see less of them as stronger enemies appear. Unlike the "X-Com" series, however, or the previous "UFO: Aftermath", where little grey men became increasingly powerful as the game progressed (with psionic abilities and destructive weapons), the Reticulans in this game don't offer much challenge by the time your troopers have reached approximately level 10. However, they do remain a very important piece of the evolving storyline.

TT Version 4.0 is best, giving a second by second countdown. Hardcore adrenaline junkies might like the cheaper version 1.0 or even going into a blind hack. Eventually, you can buy the HUD-Map View, which replaces the TT, but doesn't beep. It also frees up processing power for your Password Breaker and other tools.

Knowledge is increased by building libraries, schools and colleges at a base. To reach levels higher than 2, you must have a combination of at least two knowledge structures (Library+School, or higher). Since bases are limited to between three and five buildings each, and knowledge is specific per base, it's best to construct these high-knowledge labs at a base where five slots are available. In small bases, a school and college would take up two slots, leaving only one free for a lab...

The mosquitoes can be annoying. They swarm around Yarny and you need to be careful not to accidentally toss out your lasso and attack one. Fortunately, the mosquitoes leave you alone in some sections of the level, and when the moose (or elk, for the European term) walks by, they go off after the large animal. However, this trophy/achievement won't trigger until the end of the level.

You encounter the vole early on, and jump on mushrooms to release spores to drive it back. That enables you to get the branch that you ride when you lasso the lure on the fish. The vole then chases you later in the level. What to call the vole required a bit of detective work. It's not a mole, and while people online are referring to it as a gopher, gophers are in North and Central America, not Sweden. A vole looks the part and is native to Sweden. A vole is my best guess and I'm sticking to it. The secret trophy/achievement in the fourth level, "Mountain trek", is "Get a clew", which you earn by obtaining the secret button in the maze. This is not a typo, but a bit of wordplay: one of the definitions of "clew" is a ball of yarn, cord, or thread.

Rankings are the official measure of who's on top in the underground world of hacking. There's two types: Official Uplink Status, and Neuromancer (Good or Evil?). Intermediate ranking decrypts the Social Security missions.

There are only five "Countries" in the African continent: Egypt, Algeria, Ethiopea, Guinea, and South Africa. Most of Africa consists of uncontrollable terrain, especially the Sahara Desert and the jungles of Congo. You can still build tracks through these territories if you want.

While most of the breakable ice is located in the frozen streams, there is a small puddle in the road that must also be broken in order to earn this secret trophy/achievement. In "The letter", you need to move quickly between cover points to avoid the swooping birds. At one point you even have to hide under a bucket as you move across an open field. Near the end, however, you release a trapped bird who then carries you to the letterbox.
