Video Games T-Z: 'X' Trivia Questions

1. What is the first mission in "X-Operations"?

From Quiz
"X-Operations" (PC)

Answer: Training

Training familiarises the player with weapons and movement in the game. It involves walking up to signs and completing small tasks like shooting cans. In a surprise twist, the shooting range is then invaded by a small group of enemies, which the player must eliminate.

2. Each race builds a different set of ships for each size class. Each race also names their ships differently. Which category best describes the names of ships created by the Teladi, a race of snake-like merchants?

From Quiz "X3: Reunion", Celestial Tycoonmaker

Answer: Birds

Odd, but the snake-like Teladi name most of their ships after different kinds of birds. These include the Harrier, Buzzard, Falcon, Vulture, etcetera. The Boron name their ship after fish, Paranid give them greek mythology names, and most (but not all) Split ships are named after reptiles or other creepy-crawlies.

3. In the Building_DEF mission, what is attacking the building?

From Quiz "X-Operations" (PC)

Answer: Cyborgs

Building_DEF involves you and a team of spec-ops soldiers attempting to stop two cyborgs from reaching the top floor of the building and killing the chairman. It is one of the more difficult levels in the game as cyborgs have huge amounts of health.

4. What weapon do you start with at the beginning of Building_KT?

From Quiz "X-Operations" (PC)

Answer: MAC-10

In the briefing, we are told the character has been unfairly fired from the company and wants revenge. The level involves moving through the building, fighting several police officers and finally assassinating the chairman on the top level.

5. What is the lowest price at which stations buy or sell Energy Cells?

From Quiz "X3: Reunion", Celestial Tycoonmaker

Answer: 12

12 is the lowest possible price for Energy Cells. Economy in this game works according to availability: A Solar Power Plant that has produced too much energy will sell it for 12cr (cheap!). Similarly, a factory that has purchased too much energy already will buy it at 12cr (not a good price). The trick is always looking for stations with lots of product, and selling that product to stations running low on resources.

6. What is the last mission of the game?

From Quiz "X-Operations" (PC)

Answer: School_DE

School destroy is a very difficult mission which takes place in a classroom filled with computers. You are armed with five grenades and must destroy all the computers in the classroom whilst avoiding several armed civilians and a cyborg.
