4. Joe Biden managed to win over 80 percent in 20 counties. What was his best county, with 89.7 percent of the vote?

From Quiz Fun Facts About the 2020 US Election

Answer: Prince George's County, Maryland

Prince George's County topped the list. It is directly northeast of Washington DC. It is a majority minority district, with 62 percent African American population in the 2010 census. It is also home to numerous government workers and agencies, including the Census Bureau and Andrews Air Force Base. Oglala Lakota County is second, at 88.4 percent. It is home to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, site of the Wounded Knee massacre of 1890. According to the Census Bureau, Oglala Lakota had the sad distinction of being the poorest county in all fifty states. San Francisco came in with 85.3 percent. The city has widely been known as one of the most "liberal" places in the United States, and supports Democrats by large margins. Clayton County is directly southwest of Atlanta and is home to Hartsfield Airport. Biden won it with 85 percent of the vote. Heavy turnout in Atlanta and surrounding counties was a key reason that Biden flipped the state of Georgia, the first time a Democrat won the state since Bill Clinton in 1992. The late Representative John Lewis represented Clayton County for many years.

9. About one third of the U.S. Senate was also up for election along with the presidency. How many states split their vote for President and Senate by voting for different parties in each race?

From Quiz Election 2020: One for the History Books

Answer: 1

Ticket splitting used to be very common but 2016 saw zero states split their vote for president and senator. In 2020, only one state split. Maine re-elected long-time moderate Republican Senator Susan Collins (although she only narrowly avoided the instant runoff and this was her closest re-election contest) while sending Joe Biden to the White House. In the House elections, only a dozen or so districts split their votes with many of them having very close results, which was a historic low.

The consulting firm is run by the former Executive Director of the Arizona Republican Party. Millennial Strategies, based in Huntington, New York, received $2.2 million. The group has worked for progressive organizations such as Planned Parenthood and Common Cause as well as Democratic candidates. Atlas Strategy Group, based in Saint Louis, was given $1.27 million. 13. How many states had Kanye West for President on the ballot?

From Quiz Kanye West Ran For President

Answer: 12

The twelve states were Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Utah and Vermont. Those states have a collective electoral vote of 84. Trump won 62 of those votes, Biden won 22. So even if there had been a magical surge for the Kanye Express, it would have hurt Trump far more than Biden.

From Quiz Kanye West Ran For President

Answer: 66 thousand

Nebraska had six 90 percent counties: Arthur, Grant, Hayes, Keya Paha, Logan and McPherson. Oklahoma had four: Beaver, Cimarron, Dewey and Ellis. While every county in West Virginia went for Trump, none went over 90 percent. The closest was Grant county with 88.4 percent. Eight counties did support Trump with over 80 percent.

16. During the reading of electoral votes on January 6, 2021, which two states' electoral votes received objections that had to be debated in Congress?

From Quiz Election 2020: One for the History Books

Answer: Arizona and Pennsylvania

During the lame duck period, President Trump and his closest allies refused to concede the election and insisted that Trump had actually won. They claimed allegations of voter fraud cost him several swings states. These allegations were rejected by state and federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, dozens of times and found almost no support even amongst Trump-appointed judges. The main, specific complaint was that mail in voting that many states had adopted during the pandemic was unconstitutional. The effort to overturn the election was criticized by Democrats and many officials in the Republican Party who saw the efforts as Trump loyalists defying democracy, not accepting a loss and harming the Constitution and the U.S.'s peaceful transfer of power. Others saw it as an attempt by ambitious Republicans to earn goodwill with Trump during their speculated future runs for president. During the counting of the votes, Arizona's votes were objected to by Rep. Paul Gosar and Sen. Ted Cruz and both houses of Congress were required to debate those votes. During the debate, a mob of Trump supporters invaded the Capitol Building in what would be called an insurrection to stop the electoral vote counting and have Trump declared the winner. Members of Congress and Vice President Mike Pence were evacuated to the Capitol shelters and other safe spots. Some of the rioters vandalized the building, waved Confederate and Trump flags, broke into offices, stole items and physically assaulted law enforcement. One Capitol police officer was murdered in the riot. When the Senate and House reconvened later that night, the tone had changed. Some of the Republicans who had stated they would challenge the results changed their minds while others were still insistent. The objections to Arizona and Pennsylvania's votes were rejected. President Trump's role in the riot was controversial and he was subsequently impeached for inciting the insurrection.
