In his filings with the Federal Election Commission, West identified his party as BDY, the Birthday Party. In his filing to get on the ballot in Louisiana, he also listed his party as "Birthday Party."

West was born in Atlanta, Georgia in June 1977, so he was 43 when he announced he was running for President in July 2020.

Angela Walker was the running mate of Green Party candidate Howie Hawkins. Tiara Lusk was the running mate of Life and Liberty candidate Jon Myers. Jo Jorgensen was the presidential candidate of the Libertarian Party.

Elon Musk, who had been supporting businessman Andrew Yang during the Democratic primaries, announced that he was supporting West on July 5. A native of South Africa, Musk made his fortune in the computer boom of the 1990s. In 2002, he formed SpaceX, a private space exploration firm. Musk has also been a leading figure at Tesla, the electric car company. Forbes magazine estimated Musk's net worth at $90 billion at the time of the 2020 election.

Entertainment industry figures supporting West included Nick Cannon, Chance the Rapper, actress Rose McGowan and rapper DaBaby. Athletes to endorse West included Dennis Rodman, football players Dez Bryant and Darrelle Revis and Olympic runner Rochelle Stevens.

Whitman, former CEO of Ebay, and Fiorina, former CEO of Hewlett Packard, both made failed bids for the presidency. Both endorsed Joe Biden in 2020. Gates, the founder of Microsoft, was highly critical of Donald Trump, but did not endorse Biden (or Kanye) in the election.

According to the FEC, West spent $10,395,234 during his run for President. Conveniently, Kanye loaned his campaign $10,360,000. The vast majority of the money, almost 80 percent it, went to three consulting firms.

The biggest recipient was Fortified Consulting, based in Tempe, Arizona, which got roughly $4.7 million. The consulting firm is run by the former Executive Director of the Arizona Republican Party.

Millennial Strategies, based in Huntington, New York, received $2.2 million. The group has worked for progressive organizations such as Planned Parenthood and Common Cause as well as Democratic candidates.

Atlas Strategy Group, based in Saint Louis, was given $1.27 million. Consultant Gregg Keller has worked for many conservative organizations and candidates including the American Conservative Union.

The West campaign spent another $260,000 on legal fees.

According to his FEC filings, the campaign raised $1,181,315. Of that total, $477 thousand was itemized (1779 entries) and $704 thousand was unitemized.

The West campaign's largest single individual contributor was Keon Moghaddan, a pre-med student at UC-Urvine, who gave $4220. Second was Rajan Birla, a real estate investor from Union City, California, who gave $3000.

The twelve states were Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Utah and Vermont. Those states have a collective electoral vote of 84. Trump won 62 of those votes, Biden won 22. So even if there had been a magical surge for the Kanye Express, it would have hurt Trump far more than Biden.

West received 66,036 votes in the 12 states where he was listed on the ballot. His best state in terms of pure votes was Tennessee with 10,256 votes. His best state percentage-wise was Utah, where he received 0.48 percent.

Answer: Wisconsin - insufficient number of signatures

It was West Virginia where West's petitions were rejected for not having enough signatures. The campaign submitted 14,000 signatures, but only 6383 were deemed valid, below the requirement of 7144 signatures. Judge Irene Berger sided with the Secretary of State's office.

In Wisconsin, West's campaign arrived at the offices of the Elections Board literally seconds before the filing deadline, and it was ruled they missed the deadline. The Elections Commission rejected his application to be on the ballot.

In Arizona, Maricopa County judge Scott McCoy removed West from the Arizona ballot when a voter noted that although West was running as an independent, he was registered as a Republican, and his electors had all been registered Republicans until recently.

In Ohio, the State Supreme Court removed West from the ballot when it turned out the nomination petitions he submitted contained flawed paperwork.

In Virginia, Richmond Circuit Court Judge Joi Tayor ruled that West was not qualified for the ballot because the oaths of 11 of his 13 electors were invalid.

Answer: People should inject themselves with bleach to fight COVID-19

It was Donald Trump who in April 2020 appeared to suggest people could fight COVID by using powerful lights or injecting themselves with bleach. Clorox, the world's leading manufacturer of bleach, begged consumers not to inject their product.

At a rally in South Carolina, in which he was wearing a bulletproof vest, West stated that abolitionist Harriet Tubman "never actually freed the slaves, she just had them work for other white people."

In an interview with Forbes Magazine, West called the COVID vaccine "the mark of the beast" and stated that "they want to put chips inside of us" that will prevent people from getting into heaven.

In the same Forbes interview, West claimed that "alien level superpowers" were at work on Earth and that he would like to base his administration on the fictional nation of Wakanda.
