Mark Cline, a sculptor, got the idea for making Foamhenge when he visited a place that made huge blocks of styrofoam. While constructing Foamhenge, Mark took care to add the details that would make the styrofoam replica look exactly like the real Stonehenge. Foamhenge was originally located in Natural Bridge, Virginia, but had to be moved in 2016 when Natural Bridge was made into a state park. After spending some time in storage, Foamhenge was relocated to Cox Farms in Centreville in 2017.

Stompin' Tom Connors sang "Big Joe Mufferaw" - an embellished list of amazing accomplishments, that were "allegedly" performed by Big Joe. Big Joe Mufferaw is considered the Canadian version of Paul Bunyan. The statue was created and carved by Peter Cianafrani and is 9 feet tall. Along with "Big Joe", other nine foot historic statues were erected in 2002 in celebration and recognition of Canadian history.

4. Which quirky example of a Stonehenge replica, located in Alliance, Nebraska, was initially rejected by residents, but was eventually recognized as a point of pride for the town?

Carhenge was constructed by Jim Reinders in 1987 as a memorial to his father. Initially, the local residents didn't like it and the Nebraska Department of Highways considered it a junkyard and wanted a fence built around it. Eventually, it became accepted by the residents, and signs were put up to proclaim Alliance as the "Home to Carhenge", as well as postcards made available for purchase by tourists. Carhenge is made entirely of American-made cars painted gray to make them look more like the real Stonehenge.

The Wawa Goose that is displayed now is not the original goose. The original goose could not hold up to the weather so it was retired. Stompin' Tom Connors sang the song "Little Wawa" about a goose that stayed behind when her lover Gander Goo got shot down with an arrow. The Wawa goose that is overlooking the Trans-Canada Highway is 28 feet tall, 22 feet long and has a wingspan of 20 feet. Dick Vanderlift was the proud designer of this Wawa goose.

Some of them include the Stonehenge at Makomanai Takino Memorial Cemetery in Hokkaido, Stonehenge II in Ingram, Texas, and the replica at Raven Hill Discovery Center in Michigan. Just like Stonehenge, moai statues, also called the Easter Island heads, are a source of curiosity. The moai statues are thought to have been carved between 1250 and 1500 CE. Like Stonehenge, their purpose and meaning are unknown, but some archaeologists believe that they represent religious and political power.
