Answer: Omnivorous

Chickens are omnivorous, eating both meat and vegetation. Among other things, they will eat worms, snails, insects, grass, leaves, plants, seeds and even small mice and lizards.
2. Which of these breeds is a true bantam (has no large fowl equivalent)?

Answer: Sebright

Other true bantams include Pekin, Belgian D'Anver, Barbu D'Uccles and Rosecomb.
3. Why do chickens need grit?

Answer: For digestion and egg production

Chickens need both soluble and insoluble grit. Insoluble grit goes into the gizzard to help break food down, soluble grit provides the bird with calcium for strong bones and good egg shells.
